Super overall package
Great hotel ! The room to feel good , special modern design , very clean. Attentive staff. Great buffet. I had half board and dinner was great. Big praise to the cook. I'll be back.

Disappointing experience in wedding planning at aja Grömitz
We wanted to stay at the aja Grömitz in August 2026 with our family as we wanted to celebrate our wedding there. Already in August 2025 we started to contact the hotel headquarters in Hamburg because we liked the hotel so much and it was our heartfelt wish to live there around our wedding ceremony.
We have been told several times that booking is not yet possible as prices for 2026 have not yet been set, but it will not be a problem as soon as they become available. We were asked to contact us again at the end of September, which we did.
In the autumn we passed on all the necessary information (number of people, length of stay, etc.) and received verbal and e-mail feedback that it should work. On this basis, we have already set the date at the Grömitz registry office and asked our families to take leave for this period.
The shock was all the greater when, on October 29, 2025, we suddenly received the news that wedding celebrations were not possible in August, as it was high season. This information should have been provided to us from the start – then we could have looked for another accommodation or another location on the Baltic Sea in time.
This experience is very disappointing and bitter for us, especially because we were so excited about this special day and relied on the statements of the aja headquarters.
We hope that future brides and grooms will be informed early and honestly, so that no one gets into a similar situation.

Nice hotel, with restrictions
Located right on the beach and very close to the center.
The welcome was very friendly, the rooms are friendly and clean.
Breakfast was very varied, unfortunately there are only very limited places available. The Service at breakfast is very dedicated and very friendly.
What we really complain about is the fact that the housekeeping was not carried out at all. We stayed at the hotel from Friday to Tuesday, our rooms were not cleaned on a single day. The proximity to the beach of course means that you bring sand into the room. It would have been nice if the room had at least been vacuumed. What a shame!

Great.
I don't usually write reviews, but I wanted to take the time and write a review of my stay here. The place was really nice and the proximity to the beach was great.
Overall, the hotel was nice but the rooms were not particularly tidy ,nevertheless fine.
I would also like to thank the young Tunisian chef, unfortunately I forgot his name, but he was very patient and responded to my son's wishes, thank you again for that.
I would definitely come back next year.

Disappointing stay – unfortunately no recommendation
Our stay at aja Grömitz was a single disappointment. Even the room was anything but welcoming: dusty curtains as a cheap room divider, a bathroom with glass wall without privacy, dark corridors and a dreary view of a courtyard.
But the real disaster was the conditions upon our arrival: The room was littered with dozens of (tiger) mosquitoes – unacceptable! Instead of solving the problem seriously, we were moved to another room for one night. The next morning, we had to go back to the original room, which had supposedly been “treated.” In truth, they had just sprayed some insect spray. No trace of thorough cleaning or pest control.
For two days, there was no need for recreation – we moved back and forth, stored our luggage in a storage room, and all this without any accommodation from the hotel.
Conclusion: For us this was definitely the last stay in an aja hotel.
