Fine for a weekend
This is a no-frills-attached but perfectly fine hostel in Hamburg. We stayed for a weekend and it was nice, the room was clean, bathrooms and showers never busy and the location walkable from the centre of town. Some things to note:
-We checked in using a numbercode they text us before we arrived. This all worked fine, the hostel is on a dark (but feels perfectly safe, just unoccupied offices after dark etc) street and it is a bit of a faff to find the right lockbox and put the code in to get the key. We used the flashlight on the phone and all worked fine.
-The hostel is up several flights of stairs, but I think there is also a small lift
-No kitchen, but communal bathrooms and rooms were clean and functional
-Pretty quiet, it's basically a corridor with a dozen or so rooms on and the bathrooms. Didn't really see many other people, no communal area.
It's good value for money and I would go back.

Adequate for what you pay in an otherwise pricey city
This suited me, a male solo traveller on a short break in Hamburg, fine. Be mindful, the outside of the actual hostel is very non-descript and the reception is located at the end of the same street in what mainly appears to be a popular gym. I got the strong impression the gym was run with more passion and energy. You are texted your code and room number before your arranged time slot arrival.
It is walkable to a bus stop, the 112 will take you into the city, or the metro underground, all very efficient. Yes, you *can* walk into the city but it is a grotty 20 min walk once you are confident of the direction. I wouldn't say it is entirely pedestrian friendly, cycling, more so.
The room was what I expected, but the lamp did not work, so it had no purpose and the chair they provided broken.
The bed was very comfortable.
There are streams of cafes up the road, yet I could not locate a supermarket.
The staff speak very little English but were able to print my boarding pass for me which was convenient.
The only real con was the lack of towels, they provide 1 tiny towel, more like a hand towel, certainly not fit for showering, especially as they have signs that stipulate to keep the bathroom clean, this is impossible with the tiny towel they provided me, as one would automatically put that down on the floor after they come out of the shower to stand on to keep the floors clean and feet. As I was staying for 5 nights and planning to shower daily. I asked(in German) for another towel, a bigger one if possible and after a miffed response, was given 2 more clean towels of the same size, which was better than nothing.
The showers are great, power showers.
I can see this location being a bit unappealing for some, but the actual hostel is fine.

Empfehlung: Nein
