Better than you think from the outside

An inexpensive hotel - also due to the fact that the check-in only takes place online and so the reception has to be staffed only occasionally. Likewise, the minibar is replaced by a central vending machine.
Savings were also made on the renovation of the outer shell and corridors.
There was no skimp on cleaning - the rooms were spotlessly clean, with one exception even where you look with difficulty.
Large room, with possibility to stay on balcony (if booked) and also inside.
The breakfast buffet is not as rich as in a large hotel, but lovingly put together and there was little missing that I actually missed: Instead of fruit salad, there was fresh fruit, and only two types of bread - but the choice of rolls was wide.

Great location

Stayed there for two nights during our summervacation.
Room was quite big and we especially enjoyed the quite location.
There is no restaurant at the hotel but it is only a 10 minute walk to the village, where there are some nice restaurants.
We enjoyed the location for nice trekking in the Schwartzwald forest.

Comfortable, everything was perfect

The new operator, Alexander and his team, are making a lot of effort, even though the hotel is getting on in years. Check-in is totally effortless. Rooms are always very large and spacious. Breakfast buffet is very good, has plenty of everything.
Alexander will carry out a gentle renovation, but this will take time
