Great atmosphere and service

I have stayed at this Hotel on three occassions. Always clean. Friendly owners and staff. Great breakfast service and the restaurant has a classic German menu that goes well after a long day of work. Oh did I mention the Bierstube. The town is charming and worth a quiet stroll.

Basic but fair deal. Good restaurant.

The hotel is basic but is a fair price. The restaurant is very good and offers good traditional German food. The Internet is however very slow. It's good for short stays or for decent meals. I found the more expensive rooms better.

Good Value for Money

Stayed here because I had an early meeting the next day.
The hotel is not a 4 or 5 star but a very good 3 star. The is a restaurant but I arrived late so I was unable to test this.
The single room I had was clean. There was a flat screen tv, small bathroom with shower.
Breakfast was good, good choice for a 3 star hotel.
Best was the price 53 euro for the room +5 for breakfast.
Total 58 euro.
When looking at the price this Hotel is very good for the price they are asking. Family owned and staff is very friendly.
Tip, you will get the same price when booking direct. This saves them an extra 10 to 15% they have to pay to booking sites.
I had a late arrival, around 11 pm and mention this during reservation. I called one hour before arriving and they said someone would wait for me, which is a good service.

Good food, otherwise average.

Very good food and decent friendly service but otherwise nothing outstanding. I was given a smoking room which just smelt of smoke. I don't smoke. Was not asked if I wanted a non smoking room. Hotel was generally stuffy (lack of air stuffy). No regular bar and Resturant opening hours not over friendly. Extractor fan in the bathroom stayed on for about 30 minutes. To long. So was just about ok and could stay again but would not go out of my way to do that.

Quaint German Inn off the beaten path

During our recent visit with friends in Germany we traveled to Nordborchen near Paderborn. At our friends' recommendation we spent two nights in Hotel Pfeffermuehle. Wow! Such a little gem of a place off the beaten path. The hotel staff could speak enough English that communication wasn't a problem.
The room charge included a full German-style buffet breakfast, not like the typical instant, pre-made selections we find in the States. A full dinner restaurant was also housed in the Inn. We found the food exceptionally delicious and it was served beautifully too.
The hotel was immaculate and the rooms very spacious. The beds were European in style with snowy white feather tick coverings.
If you are looking for an authentic German experience, Hotel Pfeffermuehle is a great choice.
