Our third visit

The hotel is in the country in a peaceful area. Friendly helpful welcome at reception, directed to a very comfortable ground floor room in the tower. Excellent variety at breakfast. Hope to visit again.

Good food in pleasant surroundings

The restaurant/hotel is family-run and situated in beautiful countryside near the town of Rüthen. I can't write about staying in the hotel, as I didn't, but the restaurant is a typical example of German "Gemütlichkeit" with rustical oak furnishings and even a fireplace for cold winter evenings. The food is good home stuff, copious, well-presented and delicious, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is usually a vegetarian option; if not, just ask and they will prepare it for you without a murmur. There is plenty of room for larger gatherings, and the quality of the food - which does not suffer as the number of guests grows - is fine. Game often features on the menu and is always fresh. The prices are reasonable and the portions enormous! Quality of cleanliness, especially as found in the toilets,very good. After such a big meal, a stroll around the grounds of the hotel will lead you to the renovated mill and then to a small wind park with great views of the surrounding area. Parking is available and always plentiful, unless there's an event going on - the Spitze Warte is the equestrian centre of the area.

Katastrophe

Ich kann mich den positiven Bewertungen leider nicht anschließen. Ich empfand die Geschäftsgepflogenheiten schon fast als Täuschung. Zum Hintergund. Ich hatte telefonisch erst angefragt, ob für 4 Nächte ein DZ zur Alleinnutzung zur Verfügung stünden, dass wurde bejaht und ich sollte per Mail buchen. Bei meiner Buchung bezog ich mich auf den auf der Hotelwebsite angegebenen Preis von 65.00 € inkl. Frühstück, dass wurde in der Antwortmail auch so bestätigt. Bei meiner Ankunft hieß es dann, dass seien Prese aus dem Vorjahr, man würde mir aber 72.00 € anbieten. Ich beschloss, meinen Aufenthalt nach einer Übernachtung abzubrechen und da wurden dann sogar 76.00 € in Rechnung gestellt. Die Karte dann wurde allerdings nur mit 72.00 € belastet.
Positiv empfand ich den Schlafkomfort.

Gute für einen Beerdigungskaffee

Wir waren dieser Tage als Gäste nach einer Beerdigung im entferneten Verwandten Kreis, zum anschließenden Kaffee eingeladen.
War alles rundum gut, freundliches Personal guter Kuchen und gute Brote.
Für solche Anlässe durchaus zu empfehlen.

Prima, netjes te ver van Winterberg & Willingen

Prima hotel en top familiekamer. Direct aan de weg en totaal in The middle of niks. Heel aardige mensen en prima ontbijt. Ik vind het met kleine kids toch te ver van 'de reuring' in Willingen (30 minuten) en Winterberg (40 minuten). De omgeving is prachtig!
