Perfect experience

The Hotel Silberfelsen was a pleasant surprise. This is a family-run facility. Hospitality, availability and courtesy characterized our stay. Rooms extremely clean. The breakfast was excellent. Possibility on request, from Thursday to Sunday, to take advantage of half board in the evening. Excellent cuisine. Highly recommended. We will be back in the summer.

Great hotel with great service

Great hotel with incredible service. Kindness is very important here. That's how you imagine a hotel. Despite actual rest day we were offered a great meal and the rooms were top, well maintained and clean. We always like to come back.

A wonderful home away from home!

What a treat to stay at the Silberfelsen Hotel! We couldn't have wished for a more charming and comfortable place to stay, with equally charming hosts, Sabina and Sylvia.
Menzenschwand is a small hamlet tucked away in a lovely valley set among the beautiful hills and mountains of the Schwarzwald. Our room was perfect, with two comfortable beds, nice bathroom and plenty of space, opening onto a balcony. On the ground floor there is a separate bar and relaxation area where guests can relax and enjoy snacks and drinks. On the first floor is the dining room where a sumptuous breakfast is served daily, with every imaginable thing available, including scrambled eggs and real bacon but also lots of typical European breakfast goodies. We were staying with a group and we fortunate enough to also have our evening meals in the restaurant. Sabine and Sylvia did an amazing job and treated us like royalty. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Einfach Super!

We stayed here as a family for one night mid-June whilst visiting the Kolleg St. Blasien.
Sabina and Sylvia were wonderful hosts: although we were delayed in our arrival until 9:45 pm they were waiting and welcomed us as soon as we got out of the car and walked to the hotel entrance! Not only do they have a self-selection 'supermarket' of refreshments, but also a freezer containing ice cream for those moments of weakness!
Rooms were newly-decorated and comfortable; a peaceful terrace outside our room allowed us to unwind after our four-hour journey and enjoy the gentle noise of the river nearby. We had to be in St. Blasien on Saturday morning at 08:00am, and Sabina and Sylvia made an especial effort to give us an early breakfast at 07:15 instead of the usual 08:00. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh rolls salamis, cheeses, cereals, freshly-made confiture all served in such a friendly way.

Very good hotel and friendly staff

Very nice hotel with just 18 rooms. All rooms have a balcony or terrace, a free safe and a free Wi-Fi connection. The Wi-Fi reception is good, but the uplink fails every now and then, but who cares: you're on vacation!
The rooms do not have a mini bar, but there is a shared fridge on the groundfloor you can use. There are drinks, ice creams and chips for sale at normal prices.
The rooms are cleaned daily and look shiny.
The breakfast is perfect: lots of choice and all fresh! The staff is very friendly and make you really feel at home.
If you stay for more than two nights you'll receive a Hochschwarzwald card that gives you free access to the swimming pool at the other side of the road. This card can be used for other sights in the surroundings as well.
Really a must go if you plan to stay in the surroundings!
