Wonderful small family run hotel

The hotel's location is good, with Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Wurzburg, Heidelberg all being about an hour drive away. The Kocher Valley and the nearby Jagst Valley give plenty of opportunity for walking and cycling. The village itself is quiet and the hotel has an excellent restaurant Le Clochard at very reasonable prices. Our room was large, very comfortable, with two easy chairs and a large bed. There was a TV but no English speaking channels, free wifi was available in the room with good internet connection. The room had a well stocked mini bar, a desk, and a good sized wardrobe. The bathroom was roomy, with a good shower and plenty of places for hanging towels including a large towel radiator. Our room, bathroom and all public areas were spotlessly clean.
We stayed for 6 days and the continental breakfasts each morning were very good, with a choice of breads, meat, cheese, eggs, cereals, jams, juices, fruit and yoghurt. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners and the staff. This is only a small family run hotel but the quality of its rooms, restaurant and breakfast matches if not betters many larger hotels. The hotel room rates are exceptionally good value for money considering the high standard of accommodation.

Location good, hotel acceptable, manners questionable

The hotel is simple and clean, the rooms large, beds comfortable. The beer garden is very idyllic. At first sight we had at breakfast, the landlords were friendly. On the day of arrival no one was there, but the room keys easily accessible. That single and double rooms were confused, we could easily fix ourselves. I was disturbed by the "anti-vegan hotel", this is of course house law, but for me an exclusion criterion, I did not feel welcome. There was therefore no milk substitute whatsoever, which is a massive problem in lactose intolerance. Breakfast had to be fixed in advance and consisted of baked bread rolls, counted cheese slices, little fruit, no vegetables at all and individually wrapped butter, jam and honey, so an easily avoidable and therefore unnecessary amount of waste. The xenophobic statements did the rest: never again. I expect a little more hospitality from guests, even to people who think differently and are interested in animal welfare.

fantastic hotel in a cute town!

The owners are very nice, but the size of the room was a big surprise, it is quite big. I can recommend very good food in the beer garden. Another surprise was a breakfast card where you should mark the food and quantity of bread you will eat for the breakfast... I did not see something like this before...

„Anti Vegan“ als Konzept

Es ist offensichtlich, dass dieses Hotel keine Ambitionen hat, sich für verschiedene Lebensstile zu öffnen. Die Diskriminierung und das Desinteresse gegenüber Veganern waren nicht nur enttäuschend, sondern auch inakzeptabel. Ich rate jedem dringend davon ab, dieses Hotel zu besuchen, da sie dort keine herzliche Aufnahme erwarten können, sofern der Geschäftsführung der eigene Lebensstil nicht passt.
Es ist bedauerlich, dass dieses Hotel seine Ignoranz und Diskriminierung offen zur Schau stellt und keinerlei Rücksicht auf seine Gäste nimmt. Solche Praktiken gehören der Vergangenheit an und sollten nicht toleriert werden.

Idealer Stopp

Sehr geräumiges Zimmer (102) mit einem ganz tollen Badezimmer. Sehr sauber und gepflegt. Anders ist die Frühstückskarte, auf der man am Vorabend sein Frühstück bestellt. Kein Problem, das Frühstück war reichlich und sehr lecker. Ich werde gerne wiederkommen.
