Ver quant, but....

very quant hotel. Rooms are clean and tidy, however we stopped there three nights and the towels were not changed or offered to be changed and the room was never made up, we had to do that.
the staff (owners?) are very friendly and provide a reasonable breakfast, however I have stopped at similar types of guest houses in Germany and Austria and this one was definitely at the bottom of the list.
In Thale you do not have a lot of choice to be honest, so by local standards it may be considered acceptably good

Nice guesthouse in a nice region

Our family stayed four nights, enjoying comfortable, clean rooms. The inclusive breakfasts were always very good, and staff was friendly and helpful. Bikerides and hikes in the area are also recommended.

Great stay and nice staff

The hotel was nice and clean. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast great. The room was on the top floor and it was great with a bath. I would definitely stay here again and can only recommend it. It said it had free wi-fi but we could not connect to it in our room. Hence the 4/5.

Cute house, location was good not great, great breakfast and friendly staff.

Room was decent, but a bit institutional feeling. Did not realize the payment was meant to be dealt with in cash. Overall though the house was cute with a nice set up, everything was clean, breakfast was great and staff was helpful and friendly. Location is not off the downtown so if you take the train get off at first stop in thale.

Hospitality in Thale

Nice little hotel with a very friendly host. Got a decent, large room with garden view and bathtub. Cold beers and soft drinks available for guests on 24/7 self-service basis, trustful and sympathetic. Breakfast rather simple but good and honest quality and fresh prepared (excellent cheese selection), served in the atmospheric breakfast room with garden view. A minus: Our son was scared when approached by one of the huge barking dogs running loose. They should be locked in!
Thale is not an exciting town but the main attractions are worth a visit: Take the cable car to Hexentanzplatz with the entertaining and priceworth Harzbob mountain coaster, or walk through impressive Bodetal.
