Excellent stay at this hotel
Excellent stay at this hotel.
There are many highlights: a warm, friendly, and professional welcome, an incredibly spacious and well-designed suite, an exceptionally comfortable XXL bed, and outstanding bedding.
The bathroom is a real highlight. The shower alone is worth the stay: a large rainfall shower with mood lighting that creates a truly relaxing experience.
The location is also excellent. Despite the crowds related to the World Cup, the hotel was remarkably quiet, with no noise at all. A special mention also goes to the breakfast: the buffet offered a great selection of fresh, high-quality products.
There are, however, a few small details that could make the experience even better:
* Provide a small bathroom amenity kit with cotton pads and cotton swabs, which is always appreciated if guests have forgotten their own.
* Add a small bench or cabinet in the bathroom to place personal belongings, as there is plenty of space available.
* Install more towel rails and bathrobe hooks, especially near the shower. The current setup feels insufficient given the size of the bathroom.
* Offer complimentary bottled water or stock the minibar. It was completely empty during our stay, which was disappointing, especially during such hot weather.
* Pay a little more attention to the finishing touches: clean the electrical outlets, make sure all lamps are properly connected, and dust the beautiful glass lamp. I also noticed fingerprints on the glass table.
* Consider installing a larger television, which would be more suitable for such a spacious suite.
* Finally, the room doors could benefit from adjustment, as they tend to slam shut even when closed gently.
These are only minor details and did not detract from what was otherwise an excellent stay. With a few small improvements, this hotel would be close to perfect. We would gladly return.

Still a fantastic hotel
After the many negative reviews here on TripAdvisor, we honestly had our doubts about this hotel, where we used to always come with great pleasure. Fortunately, the reality turned out to be completely different.
Upon arrival we were very kindly received by a nice lady at the reception. The check-in went smoothly and we got a beautiful room that in terms of comfort and amenities is not unlike many a five-star hotel. Moreover, the room was spotless; even in the bright sunlight there was no dust to discover.
Unfortunately, one of the two beds proved defective. However, this was solved immediately and professionally by moving to a themed suite in which we also stayed years ago. To our surprise, this one was still fantastic.
The bar was closed due to a wedding – which really just indicates that this is a wonderful venue to get married – so we went straight to the restaurant. That has since been renovated and has been given a beautiful, stylish look while maintaining the classic atmosphere. Every detail has clearly been thought through.
We enjoyed a three-course dinner preceded by two delicious amuses, fresh bread with butter and beautifully made dishes. The quality of the food was excellent and the wine matched this perfectly. A special compliment to the kind young lady who served us; hospitality is clearly in her blood.
Breakfast the next morning was also a feast, with a wide choice of fresh produce and even a glass of bubbly.
Because our suite had its own steam room, we did not use the wellness. We'd like to save that for next time.
On departure we were kindly wished a good trip by the employees in the restaurant and the check-out was extremely welcoming.
Often people only write a review when something goes wrong, when of course that can happen anywhere. That is why we felt that a positive experience can also be shared. For us this stay was a pleasant surprise and we will definitely come back.

A big disappointment in restaurant Bloemendal
Nice location and excellent hotel but .....
For health reasons my wife is not allowed to sit in the sun, after reserving a table at the reception just walked past the restaurant to ask for a table under the umbrella.
We're not going to do that sir, if your wife is not allowed in the sun you can eat inside right?, no because the weather is lovely and we would like to eat outside.
Mr. Sun is turning and we can't arrange that.
Incredibly unhelpful and customer unfriendly gruff approach canceled by this employee and therefore table, but you can do that yourself at the reception !!!!
Incredibly bad treatment as an exclusive member and never experienced anything like this at van der Valk in recent years

Hotel Bloendal Vaals.Valk Exclusive?
Not for the first time staying at Hotel Bloemendal Vaals. Seen from the outside an imposing building with a beautiful garden. From the inside, long dark corridors.
Reception is cool and businesslike. A warm welcome is missing. The elevator is small and very slow. Wellness department is extremely luxurious with a surprisingly small swimming pool.
The room is good but with an inventory that has come quite old.
The fact that Valk wants to project environmental awareness is her right, but saddling the guest with a choice of limited cleaning service is going too far for me.
It would be fairer that Valk wants or has to save on the costs of cleaning staff and resources or the lack thereof. The entrance for breakfast looks chaotic. Sometimes a long wait for a waitress to notice and admit you. Breakfast is fairly extensive but the baking rolls are heavy on the stomach. Sticky bite.
Better bake!. On the other hand, the omelette was delicious. At first it is not clear how and where the omelette should be ordered. Initially an omelette not ordered. The breakfast room comes across as impersonal, cool and chaotic in layout. Striking are the meetings, events and presentations with the associated crowds.
Conclusion: Falcon Exclusive?. That's where you might disagree.

Nice hotel, avoid the restaurant and go somewhere else nice, quiet and eat outside
Fantastic hotel, nice amenities, beautiful garden. However, full of surprise the experience in the restaurant processed, both wb the alignment with us and the quality of mn the main course.
We could not eat outside on the adjacent empty terrace despite the very hot evening,
despite a request in advance for a quiet place, this was not honored.
There was a hurry. Rush in the sequence of the corridors where the business explanation was also fast and difficult to follow.
The narrow stripe of steak with the main course. This seemed to have warmed up, it was not asked beforehand how to prepare, the whole appeared suddenly and turned out to be partly more or less well-done, partly medium.
In total, we hardly got vegetables at the three-course dinner. The 'eggplant goo' the size of a tablespoon with the main course completed the culinary confusion.
We reported the disappointment and a small gesture was made by taking something off the price.
