Fabulous stay at Hotel Stockumer Hof
Trip to Germany to see our son who now lives in Stockum, Werne. This hotel was perfectly placed a minute from his flat.
Plenty of parking, superb location for access to autobahns.
The main entrance is round the back with your room key also allowing you main door access.
We had the family room, although it was only the two of us. Bright airy bathroom with walk in shower, double sinks. Probably the biggest TV I have ever seen was on the wall!
Beds were firm but comfy, European style duvets which meant singles on the double bed. No curtains as the building has shutters on each window which meant very dark rooms with little to no noise from outside. Also, if you choose to not have your room cleaned each day, you have a free drink from their fridge in the communal lounge.
There were no tea/coffee facilities in the room, but guests have their own lounge and kitchen on the ground floor which they have 24/7 access. Fridge, freezer, coffee/tea, cooker, microwave, sink and all crockery available.
Breakfast you book the day/night before, continental style but the Germans are very big on their eggs. You have to have their Ruhrei (scrambled eggs) as they incredible!
The owner is a wonderful chap and as we were learning to speak German, he spoke to us in German, however he does speak English too.

Very good budget option
Efficient and very friendly. Host made me fresh scrambled eggs, advised on local transport and couldn't have been more helpful. Super clean. Honesty bar with beers for 1 euro. E80 for twin room. Nothing not to like. Recommended, very good experience.

Excellent value
Very clean hotel, very friendly staff, good and not expensive food and beer. Very good value for the very reasonable prices. A bit old fashioned but very clean and very comfortable beds. Highly recommended.

Hotel Stockumer Hof – ich war zufrieden. Das Hotel liegt in dem ruhigeren Gebiet, was für mich gut war. Das Frühstück war auch ausreichend. Der kostenlose Parkplatz direkt vor der Tür. Check-in war per Handy, wo ich PIN von Schlüsselkasten erhalten habe.

Fotoreportage in Hamm
Een km of 12 buiten Hamm in dit rustieke hotelletje in Werne. Bij Stockum. Reden voor mijn bezoek een voetbaltoernooi fotograferen voor NAC o12 jaar. Een ietwat ouder hotelletje aan de buitenkant, maar binnen zeker netjes en verzorgd. De eerste nacht verdronk ik in het zeer zachte en daardoor dunne kussen. De tweede nacht kreeg ik van dr eigenaar twee kussens erbij, op mijn verzoek. Een prettige bediening van de eigenaar en zijn 85 jarige vader, en voormalig eigenaar. Voor €4 een goed verzorgd ontbijten. Op het tijdstip wat ik vooraf had gevraagd. Aardige omgeving, wat je niet zou verwachten, met drie gigantische schoorstenen voor je raam. Voor dit doeleind een leuk en betaalbaar hotel.
