Brilliant value for money

This lovely Hotel Restaurant situated in Freden is a lovely base for Hannover Messe. The value for money proposition is excellent, the food and hospitality excellent with many an hour spent at the kegel baan

A nightmare.....

I stayed at this hotel in November for work and rarely has such a depressing place happened to me. More than a hotel, it seems like an experiment in how much discomfort you can tolerate paying.
The room was dirty, neglected and smelly, with old and run-down furnishings that gave the impression of not having been touched by a thorough cleaning in years. The bed was uncomfortable enough to make rest an option, which is not exactly ideal for business travelers.
The bathroom deserves a separate note: not very clean and decidedly unpleasant, so much so that you want to reduce the stay in the room to the bare minimum. The idea of “comfort” here seems to have been completely forgotten.
The staff, even if they try to smile, appears listless and resigned, in perfect harmony with the state of the structure. No attention to the customer, no feeling of welcome: just the distinct impression that everything is let go.
Value for money helpless: any amount spent here is too high for what is offered.
For those looking for decent, clean and suitable accommodation for a business trip, this place is absolutely unsuitable.
Conclusion: bad experience, money wasted and absolute certainty — I will never come back. Recommended only for those who love nasty surprises and have very, very low standards.

Just Love Staying Here

Tucked away in the small town of Freden, about 10 mins from Alfeld, this charming hotel is like a home away from home. We use it for easy access by train to Hannover-Messe. The food is great, the welcome is extremely warm and they have a Kegel bahn.

Richtig leckere Schnitzel mit Salat und Pommes/Bratkartoffeln. Das gibt es Dienstags für 9,70 € im Hotel Steinhoff. Das Essen war sehr gut, die Bedienung aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Es ist im letzten Jahr viel Renoviert worden. Und das sehr geschmackvoll und mit Stil. Natürlich ist noch nicht alles perfekt, aber das Haus war ja auch sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Jetzt gibt es sogar eine Eisdiele mit Gronauer Eis. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Sehr gutes Essen

Seit langem waren wir mal wieder bei Steinhoff Essen. Und sehr positiv überrascht. Der Gastraum wurde renoviert und ist hell und nett gestaltet. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Nur beim Wein kannte sie sich leider nicht aus.
Das Essen war sehr gut, die Teller ansprechend angerichtet, das Rumpsteak auf den Punkt gebraten und die Pommes ausgesprochen lecker. Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert.
Wir kommen gern wieder.
