Great hotel in Argassi!

The Windmill Hotel is in the perfect location and is very quiet at night. The staff are very friendly and the hotel is very clean. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and bedding and the pool area was always tidy. There wasn't the usual sunbed wars each morning which was another positive! I would definitely recommend!

Nice break

This is very small family run hotel in nice location.
All the staff and cleaners are very friendly and make you feel welcome.
Pool area is always cleaned and plenty of sun beds but after 10am it gets busy.
Food and drink at the pool bar is excellent and the breakfast every morning is very good.
Only issue was having to pay €10 euros night for aircon which was old and dated and had not been cleaned for sometime as very thick dust on the vents.
Rooms are bit dated but are cleaned every day and fresh towels daily .

Suggestion for improvement

We would like to share our experience after spending one wonderful week at Windmill Hotel in Zakynthos.
First of all, we would like to thank the hotel manager, who is also the owner. She is a very kind, polite, and welcoming lady. She genuinely cares about her guests and pays close attention to their comfort. Everything was excellent, especially the dinners by the sea, which were truly memorable.
We would also like to offer two suggestions based on our personal experience, which we hope may be helpful.
The first suggestion concerns the guest room doors. Since guests come from many different countries and cultures, people naturally have different habits. During our stay, some guests occasionally closed their room doors very loudly, especially early in the morning or late at night, which created a lot of noise. This could easily be solved by installing door closers on the room doors. Door closers prevent doors from being slammed, allow them to close gently and automatically, increase the lifespan of the doors, and also ensure that doors are never accidentally left open.
Our second suggestion is about the airport drop-off and pick-up point. Because the entrance to the hotel is quite narrow, the transfer buses cannot enter the hotel grounds and have to pick up and drop off guests on the main road. The problem is that the main road is also quite narrow, and there is no comfortable or safe place for guests to wait. Sometimes the wait can be as long as 20 minutes, and standing in the hot sun can be very uncomfortable.
Perhaps the hotel could set aside a small area of its land as an official Windmill Hotel Drop-off and Pick-up Point, with a simple shelter to provide shade. A sign saying "Windmill Hotel Drop-off & Pick-up Point" would also be a great form of advertising for the hotel. As far as we noticed, none of the nearby hotels have done this, so it would be an innovative and thoughtful improvement.
Finally, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to the hotel manager and to every member of the staff. Thank you all for your kindness, hard work, and excellent hospitality. We truly enjoyed our stay and wish you continued success.

Great hotel and location.

Lovely hotel and in a fantastic location, away from the road and noise. The breakfast was great with a very varied selection. Housekeeping was thotough with daily cleanses and beds made every day.
The pool area is great and has the pool bar, providing snacks, meals and drinks.
The staff were really helpfull and hard working, especially Elena and Angela - well done ladies, you are a credit to the hotel.

3-star hotel

This hotel is a two star hotel and although that is a bit on the low side, I would not give it more than 3 stars.
The food is good and the breakfast is top notch. The staff is very friendly, but there are some points where the hotel is less pleasant.
Cleanliness in the hotel room is not optimal. We stayed here for two weeks and the bed linen has only been changed once. Both times, there were stains in here that weren't ours. The shower and room are not cleaned properly and we have often found long hairs that were not mine after cleaning.
Also, the hotel has a big ant problem. If you leave the smallest crumbs in the kitchen, the family ant already comes into play.
At the hotel you had to pay for the air conditioning. €10,- per night. Quite a price if you stay longer, so you expect to be allowed to use the air conditioning constantly. You can't do that. You only get 1 keycard for the hotel room where the key is attached, so when you leave the room the air conditioning must always be turned off. Now you can arrange an extra keycard at the reception, but then the cleaning ladies still take out this keycard because the air conditioning is not allowed to be turned on for 'security reasons'. I call it money saving for the hotel, but okay.
However, we still had a nice time and the hotel has a nice location in Argasi. The pool is also nice and clean and there were always sunbeds available.
In short, it is not optimal, certainly not a 4-5 star hotel, but a nice place.
