Came to the tavern

Came to eat at the tavern without staying at the hotel for long, we enjoyed the good quality meal. Fast and efficient service.
Installed on the terrace we also appreciated the calm of this place and the view.

Homemade and typical

Everything was homemade and delicious, with daily special dishes, and local meat from their farm. very nice views and cozy inside for the cold nights. They taught us how to properly speak the minimum greek. Very economic prizes and complimentary dessert and licour.

Good homemade food

We have been eating at Kastro and pleasantly surprised by the quality of the homemade food. The lamb was exceptional / superb, the best ever had. The host explained us that they have a farm and the meat was coming from there...one could tell the difference. Portion are large but not excessive which gave us the possibility to test the stuffed tomatoes an zucchini and other delicious dishes. As dessert they did offer us watermelon, melon and a cake. And all this for very little money. There is no fixed menu but plenty of choices depending on what the cook had prepared. Mat ball (ordered by other guests, looked good as well). Pity we are leaving otherwise we would have dined here tonight as well.

Fantastic stay at Castro Kerame.

You can find Castro Kerame appartments/rooms at the entrance of the village of Kerames (upper part of Kerames) next to a small chapel/church. It's located south of Spili close to the South-Cretan coast. The last km/miles before entering the village do offer you a breathtaking taking view over the ocean and mountains. The accommodation is to be reached via keramianos@hotmail.com
You need a car to get to it. Castro Kerame at Kerames is a very quiet and authentic spot. Free wifi available. Airco in every room. It's a clean and a well furnished place. We had a fantastic stay!! A wonderful, warm, English speaking person (Evagelia) runs this place. She does prepare delicious local food from her own family-farm and she collects some special herbs, mushrooms and natural vegetables as well from the mountains nearby. Pure and honest food, prepared in a modern kitchen as well in the woodstove in the middle of the dining room. We've enjoyed rabbit, goat, veal, pork, chicken and lamb prepared in many delicious ways. Breakfast was good. Toast, bread, some small Cretan pieces of stuffed pie, eggs, coffee, tea, water, marmelade is what you might expect. Two fine beaches (one is the famous Preveli-beach) and beautiful mountains are nearby. If you are looking for an easy-going and quiet spot, in a typical Cretan atmosphere, this is a place to be. If you want disco's and crowded boulevards stay away. The south-coast of Crete is less developed than the north-coast and still has all to offer for travelers that are seeking for a quiet place to stay. We have been spending 13 nights of our X-mas holiday here and we were invited for the X-mas lunch and for the New Years Eve celebration together with her family and friends. It was a fantastic experience to be part of her great, very friendly family and her circle of friends. We really felt included. It was a very welcoming and heart-warming stay at Castro Kerame. A place to remember forever.

Bella struttura e proprietaria cortesissima

Abbiamo passato tre notti in questa struttura, a circa un'ora da moni preveli
L'appartamento era ampio e, se mancava qualcosa, la cortesissima proprietaria provvedeva a rimediare
Molto bella la vicina spiaggia di Agia Fotini
