Authentic palace - very nice rooms

It is worth passing the smaller Deogarh: Deogarh Mahal Palace. Authentic and still owned by the Maharaja who walks around it amiably. All rooms and spaces fairly well restored, the whole is a complete maze of steps and alleys (ha yes to make it difficult for the intruders in this fortress).
Reasonably basic breakfast and dinner on a budget, perhaps because September is before the start of the tourist season.
Enjoyed the massage, had no time for the pool.

Immersion in the Maharadjas' time

Magnificent palace, met and spoke with the descendant of Maharadja. Dance show and dinner on the magic roof. It feels different.

Nice facility.

Very nice property, very winding. Room very large and clean. At one point or another, a renovation would be necessary. Dining room has little atmosphere. Lunch average. Breakfast and dinner ok. Staff very helpful. In the evening atmospheric lighting

A vast and aging palate

We rented two deluxe rooms for one night. The rooms are spacious and clean. The wifi works well. The decor of the palace is splendid but it requires restoration. We did not use the pool which is in a sad state. The two jaccuzis basins" are HS . And the main basin contained algae. The pool should have been closed because of the health hazard. The staff is however very friendly and the management offered us an aperitif as compensation. The meal was medium (too salty and few choices) but the breakfast was great. The hotel is to be reviewed in high season.

Home away fro Home

Had a family function at Deogarh Mahal. We booked the whole Mahal of 60 rooms over two days. The commitment and sincerity of the staff, their behaviour made us feel welcomed and at home. The food was great and the ambience majestic; the Mahal's beauty was further enhanced by the work of the decorators. It is evident that the owners and the staff have taken a lot of pain to maintain this 350 year old structure in its current form and kudos to them for that. And they make it your home when you visit.
