Hotel Nehrus for a Homely Stay

We had a memorable stay of 2 nights in Hotel Nehrus in the first week of June 2023. I booked a Cottage Room Online and was a little apprehensive about the quality of our stay but it proved to be a great decision.
Hotel location is superb, bang on the side of the famous Dal Lake. Food quality is good, Restaurant and Room service is up to the mark. The hotel staff is very well mannered and co-operative. The best part is the Personal touch and care exhibited by Hotel Manger Mr. Salim. He is a fine gentleman and takes care of all the guests with the true motto of "Athiti Devo Bhava". A big thank you to Mr. Salim and the entire Hotel staff for the warm hospitality,
If you are looking for a Hotel with a homely feeling I will definitely recommend you to check for Availability at Hotel Nehrus.

Not recommended

The photos uploaded are completely false and opposite of what is realistically present here. Very disappointing rooms and the washroom looks clearly unhygienic. The maintenance of the hotel is negligible. Carpets have stains and the walls have marks. We have been given a plastic, unclean water jug in every room that you would probably get in an old roadside dhaba. Not a good experience at all.

Hotel Not Suggested in Dal Lake, Srinagar

The location of Hotel Nehru's is probably one of the best in Dal Lake, Srinagar. However, there are many downs of this hotel. To start with the Rooms are in deteriorating condition, the entire infrastructure is very very old which means the plumbing as well, the rooms were smelling, toilets were filled with methane gas. There was no hot water (broken geyser) I had to take bath with cold water and later no water at all. We stayed in this Hotel in June month and the temperature soared at 37-40 Degree and there was NO AC, the Fan was also in bad state. Breakfast buffer was like a govt Hotel with very less options. Also, there is no lift.
Overall a below average stay. There are better options to stay near this location.

Disappointing staff

The guy at the reception was rude and unfriendly. He was very unwelcoming during our interaction. Place was fine but until you aren't treated well there is no point to spend time during your vacation.
It is important that the staff treats the well in a pleasant and welcoming manner

Review of Hotel Nehru, Srinagar

The hotel rooms are in dipalated condition. The bathroom is awful. Poor maintenance by management. The positive is that the hotel staff including the kitchen staff are very hospitable and the food cooked is delicious.
