A Beautiful Place with a Message from the Heart
The team was extremely well organized, and our driver was professional, helpful, and knowledgeable throughout our trip. We truly enjoyed every part of our Srinagar experience, and it will always remain a beautiful and unforgettable memory. ️
Srinagar is breathtaking—the landscapes, the people, the culture, and the warmth of the place are truly special. However, one thing touched my heart deeply in a sad way: seeing so many hungry, weak, and lonely stray dogs throughout Kashmir.
I sincerely hope companies, hotels, restaurants, local businesses, and shops can come together and take some responsibility for these innocent animals. Even something as simple as providing food and clean water can make a huge difference. Supporting sterilization programs would also help control the population humanely and reduce the suffering of future generations of stray animals.
I was especially touched to learn about the kindness of Mr. Ratan Sara, the owner of Taj, and his care and compassion toward animals. It made me wonder why we are slowly forgetting that kindness and responsibility toward animals are also part of being a compassionate society.
Everyone can help in their own way feeding a few puppies, keeping a bowl of water outside, supporting local animal-rescue organizations, or simply donating a small amount toward sterilization and medical care. Even small contributions, when many people come together, can create a meaningful difference. ️
I also sincerely hope the government and local authorities can strengthen animal-welfare programs and work together with communities, businesses, and animal-rescue groups to provide proper care and humane population control.
I absolutely loved Srinagar and Kashmir. ️ My only wish is that these beautiful places could become equally beautiful and safe for the helpless animals who share these streets with us.

Our stay at Taj Dal View Srinagar
1.We checked into this iconic property on 26/5 after having spent a beautiful 7 days in other parts of the valley.
A generic curtain raising point!!!
2.It was a tad difficult to use my good offices (have plenty due to a very long association) in this iconic brand to confirm a late request for booking as the responses were tardy even if it is peak season.Not responding to requests for aligning team members is not HUMILITY which is the cornerstone of this brand.This tardiness is NEW esp amongst the senior functionaries and is not a good sign. I have highlighted this adequately in recent times and I will say once again...
As you rise in an org you are obligated to be more humble and you must be able to pick up a phone and respond,anyways.
2.As the baggage was being scanned at the first check point, I noticed that the private security was rather lax when it came to doing a 100 p c check.It was more routine than rigorous as it should have been in this geographical location. I also took the efforts of sharing my thoughts with the security personnel.
3.The check in was helmed by the incredibly pleasant, Mr Wani, the operations head who I had known from a previous stay at a different property. He escorted us to our upgraded room about which I have the following observations.
a) The room was spacious and the bathroom was VERY SPACIOUS.Strongly feel that this is not the most ergonoomical way to utilise space.
b) A synthetic carpet in the bathroom is not the most hygienic idea. Appears overdone and rather inappropriate usage of excess inventory!!!
c) A pantry at the entrance which is almost never closed is not a good sighting.
d) Criminal wastage of water in archaic WCs needs to be stopped w.i e.
4.Standard of buffet layout and preparation is average but the standard of service is very good.
Very Very Impressed with the service rendered by Mr Babul Sangma who was all heart.
5.At the checkout, the protocol of checking on the usage of the minibar and then being actually checked when leaving the room is demeaning to say the least and certainly not hospitality. Discretion was completely missing.
Going down from the five stars that I have rated you can happen abruptly and the team needs to arrest certain trends.

Unforgettable 30th Birthday Feast at Taj Dal View – Food & Hospitality That Stole the Show!
We visited Taj Dal View (Srinagar) to celebrate my 30th birthday and it turned out to be one of the most memorable evenings ever. The multi-cuisine restaurant is called Vista, and we also thoroughly enjoyed the Chinese offerings. The Chinese food was simply supreme – absolute perfection!
On a warm, lovely evening we ordered Chili Paneer, Hakka noodles, fried rice, and a whole set of other starters . Every single dish was out of this world – flavourful, perfectly cooked, and so generous. The desserts that followed were equally amazing and the perfect sweet ending to a spectacular dinner.
What made the night even more special was the staff. They were incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely nice throughout. A special hats-off to Gitesh Thakur for the outstanding service – he made us feel so well looked after and truly added to the celebratory vibe.
The food was spectacular from start to finish, the hospitality was top-notch, and the whole experience left us wanting to return to Srinagar just for another meal here. Highly recommend Vista (and the Chinese specialities) at Taj Dal View for anyone looking for excellent multi-cuisine and Chinese dining with heartfelt service. We can’t wait to come back!
