One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in, and the mold is unhygienic and unhealthy.
The property pictures shown are totally misleading. The rooms and bathrooms were nothing like in the pictures online or the website. There are pretty big mold spots in all the bathrooms. The musty mold smell is really terrible, and very strong. They sprayed air freshener in the rooms to mask the smell, but that added to the mold smell and just made it worse, so it was really difficult to sleep.
The room is a decent size, but old. A brown towel was on the floor outside the bathroom as a floor mat. There was no toilet tissue provided. When we asked them, they said they ran out, and didn’t have a chance to get any more because of the rain. ♀️
They gave us towels only after we asked them. One of the hand towels was stained with black spots and we didn’t use it. There are coffee products in the rooms, but no kettles to boil water. Several lights don’t work, and the bedside lamp on my side was old and tattered, and there was no bulb in it (see photo). The bedside lamp on the right had a bulb, but only very faint flickers. We did not take showers, but had breakfast and left as quickly as possible.
I have no idea where these so called “nice villas” are, because what we got (1, 2 and 3) were all horrible. There’s no air conditioning, no WiFi, nothing that a regular hotel provides.
But the views from our balconies were absolutely stunning. Sunset is right in front, but sunrise is not as visible.
The drive up to reception is a bit tricky as it curves up pretty steeply. The food is mediocre. We ordered fried rice (no flavor), szechuan noodles (tomatoey and spicy, but decent flavor), chettinad chicken and chicken manchurian. The chicken manchurian was red with a spicy sweet sauce, it was nothing like real chicken manchurian. The coffee and tea were great.
The staff is nice and tried to be accommodating, but they seem helpless with the options they have to offer. Altogether, the place and location are great, but it’s a low grade hotel with basic facilities. Not a good value for the money. Definitely not worth any stars.
