The REAL life at bali

A true haven of broom country,
All the comforts summer there, a superb view of the rice field sunsets all more beautiful than each other that you can immortalize without having 10 people in front of who spoil the photo .
Stay more than relaxing, top food and really good value for money.
I loved it.

Rural Perfection

Our stay at Sunset Sala was magical and it’s all thanks to Ayu and her team. The accommodations were truly incredible (even more beautiful than we expected based on the pictures), the food was delicious and plentiful, and the surroundings were peaceful and natural. Ayu and Komang generously took us by motorbike to the start of the waterfall and later led us in a cooking class that was incredible! Take advantage of these unique experiences while you visit! The only thing we wish is that we could have stayed longer.

Tranquility abounds in this tropical oasis

We have been here a few times now but this time we stayed in the round house. There’s 3 houses on the property and we previously stated in the amazing teak house. Waking up this time to the sound of a trickling stream outside our back window and the birdsong was amazing. This little place was lovingly assembled with recycled glass partitions and added to the existing cabana to make a cosy couples retreat with added bathroom - all tastefully decorated. By Shirley who sadly no longer owned the property (lovely lady) but the Balinese ladies still took great care of us. The partitions are able to open almost all the way around to catch the breeze from every angle and when no breeze, there’s a fan. Mozzies no problem with the net over the bed and the food in the warong lovingly prepared by Ibu Ahu. This is my favourite spot in all Bali for a peaceful stay. Our friends stayed in the carved gladek and said they loved it too.

Great place

I'm stayed here for a two weeks. It's a really good place with awesome view to the rice fields, river and garden. Sudaji is a village with very kind people. Good internet, hot shower, clean room. Recommend to visit.

Beauty in the High Hills

SunsetSala - Sudaji Bali
This beautiful homestay - 3 teak Joglo style bungalows are very private and allow for a beautiful space between each one. The meals and food are superb. We ordered vegetarian and I have never seen such a creative array dishes - no need to find a restaurant. Whatever you do - visit Sekumpul Waterfall in North Bali. OMG - seriously the most beautiful place I have visited in Bali. Sekumpul means all together and there are 7 waterfalls, all together.
Dramatic vistas and the friendliest villages ever. Crazy tiny streets winding up and down through a series of villages - a total maze to get there but google maps gets you there. The descent entails a finely engineered staircase with 380 steps of negotiation - all are quite manageable and with safe railings (and I am a scardy-cat but managed it fine). You have to be 2 people and hold strong as you stand under the thundering tower of water (100 metre fall). Spectacular!! COMMUNITY: When we travel, we like to give back to the community. We emailed Ibu Ayu in advance and decided to bring books for the kids. It was an absolute delight when 20 kids came in the afternoon. Most of the books were Bahasa/ English and we asked the older kids to do a little reading to the group in both languages. One 10 year old was a natural story teller. It was a delight to sing songs and laugh and see the joy in their faces. Everyone went home clutching 3 shiny new books.
GREAT accommodation with 2 fabulous cooks and a highly skilled village massage lady, Ibu supreme (my name for her) at Mrs Shirleys place : Accom: Sunsetshala, Sudaji Village, Nth Bali
