Really Nice hostel!

I am currently living here, and I really think its great! I pay 70.000 to stay here, which includes a bed (which has curtains you can use to get more privacy - really nice!), wifi, free clean water, free breakfast, a GREAT location on one of the main streets ( but still very quiet).
I will definititely recommend it!

Rude Staff and Apparent Bed Bugs

I never left a negative comment before but I would not recommend this hostel at all. Pro, located at city center & convenient to go around if you want to sightsee; nice pancake breakfast but small portion at the restaurant upstairs; comfy bed and private curtain; cheap price. Neutral, inside a Balinese family house but so are many other hostels, in fact two other hostels are within this family complex. CON, no atmosphere; no blanket for bed; 2 out of 4 guests got bitten by apparently bed bugs; only one toilet+shower for a 12 person dorm; rude staff, particularly the one I dealt with. Never smile, almost was shouting when he introduced the room to me, tried to scam me on scooter rental (80k IDR/day whereas every renting for 50k IDR), literally pointed at his watch and repeated said "check out now" right at the clock when I in faxt was already packed and cleared the bed, was just giving farewell to fellow guests in the room. I am still puzzled, I already paid and already emptied the bed, was he just trying to get me out of the room? I think other staffs are more decent but this staff seems to be present the most during my 3 days stay, I would had left on day 1 if I hadn't already paid in full.

Really good location, comfortable beds but needs better air con!

Be warned, I had booked 'Aru House' but actually was in Dewa Hostel, they are next to each other.
The bed was comfy, good privacy with a curtain, reading light, plug and really big drawer locker for my bag which was great.
The dorm has one bathroom which was pretty close to some of the beds which was disruptive.
The air con was at the other end of the dorm so not very effective. Breakfast was fine. Great base for exploring Ubud and I booked my sunrise trek and a driver from the tourist desk at the front which was helpful.
Unfortunately some guests were really noisy at night but you can't account for other people!

Amazing and clean

This is the cleanest hostel i have run into so far in my trips. What’s important the rooms are big and beds are huge and i cannot not mention the mattress, it feels like you are sleeping on a cloud. I stayed in the room on the ground floor, it had a big french window with the carpeted zone where you can chill, that adds lots of natural light during the day, not many hostels have that. I really loved the place and extended it for a few more days.
Location is also very convenient - a nice short walk everywhere.

Good price and clean room!

I booked this hostel (after reading reviews) via booking.com,texted them afterwards per Email and got a confirmation back within 24 hours.The staff there is friendly and helpful and the room is very clean and comfy (beds are stable,so you won't feel the person above you,lockers,privacy curtain,reading lights and power socket for every bed available which is convenient).The location is easy to find and pretty much in the centre of Ubud (monkey forest by foot approx 10 min,palace around 5 min walk from there!)
The only thing that spoiled a bit the trip was that there was only one bathroom and the fact that they serve you ONE cup or tea/coffee and ONE bananapancake for breakfast in the morning.
But if you know that in advance (know you guys know!) you can plan a bit ahead.
And last,but not least for that price,you can afford to buy your own breakfast then ;-)
So I can highly recommend this hostel for budget travelers and would definitely come back here!
