………. What is an actual 5 star

I booked dad hotel out ChatGPT recommendation. And now I dare say an AI will always be just an AI.
5 star ? Really well ok to be fair impressive lobby impressive courtyard nice view from second floor has an elevator .. if all these are qualities of a 5 star, I would change my booking in future to 4star to be assured of at least good service & friendly staff. I had been travelling and had been to many hotels experiencing good and bad reception. The vibes that the reception gave was hostile and phone conversations could be of better softer approach.
My aunty(an Iranian) had booked the room facing the main road (48 usd/night) it was the worst room I have ever stayed:run down and noisy!!! The sounds of the traffic is so deafening I could not sleep, hence I am writing this review at 11.25pm in the night.
All in all I am not please because my expectations were higher but really what do you expect from an AI .. he forgot to say MUST BOOK SUITE to enjoy lets hope they can compensate with a good breakfast so at least my stomach can be satisfied

Unreliable hotel

We had booked a room through the website two months in advance, and we arrived at the hotel at 14:30. According to the hotel’s policy, we should have been able to check in from 14:00. After keeping us waiting in the lobby for half an hour, the receptionist rudely told us that the room was not ready and that it would only be available at 18:00. They said they could give us another room for the time being, even though we had been driving a long distance since 6 a.m. to arrive on time, and we needed a shower, rest, and to unpack our luggage.
Moreover, the room I had booked was different from the other rooms they were offering. When I complained and said they should at least apologize, they responded in an entitled manner, saying the room would only be ready at 18:00. They apologized reluctantly, and when I asked to speak with the manager, they refused.

Beautiful hotel, but honestly disappointing experience.

The location was actually great close to Yazd’s main historical sites and easy to reach most attractions on foot.
The hotel itself is beautiful, especially at night. The architecture is stunning and has that traditional Yazdi charm.
Unfortunately, when we arrived, they had given us a completely different room from what we booked. It didn’t match in size or price, and they denied it until we said we’d leave. Only then did they agree to give us our original room the next day.
Breakfast was okay, but other meals were really disappointing — the Yazdi meatballs were super salty, and the soup was bland and half-cooked.
The bathroom wasn’t clean (wet floor, half roll of toilet paper), and during our 4-days stay, the elevator broke twice. Staff just shrugged and said “it’s broken.”
The staff didn’t show much responsibility or care. One morning they even started sweeping the yard while people were eating breakfast dust flying everywhere!
A beautiful building with a lot of potential, but poor management and weak service make it hard to recommend.
