Better Than Expected

This was a last-minute private booking. I called Monkey Puzzle directly, and Agnes was incredibly friendly. She offered me two options: an ensuite room or a room with shared bathrooms. I chose the cheaper option and, to be honest, I was a little worried at first—but there was absolutely no need. The shared bathrooms were spotless; they were so clean you could eat off the floor!
The room was small but had everything I needed: a comfortable bed with fresh, beautifully scented bedding, towels, soap, shampoo, a wardrobe, a bedside table and a reading lamp. What more could you ask for?
There is a spacious dining room, a comfortable lounge, and a fully equipped kitchen where you can prepare your own breakfast or dinner. In the evening, the sunroom looks absolutely magical, filled with plants and hundreds of tiny fairy lights.
The staff were always smiling, friendly and helpful. And the view from the window is exactly what you imagine Ireland to be—beautiful, green countryside everywhere. I would happily stay here again!

Was a nice place to stay, very accommodating.
The room was very small with a bunk bed, but as it was for one person, it was ok for 3 nights.
The towels were extremely small, and the shower in the separate bathroom downstairs was on a timer. So I could not complete my shower without having to press the button again.
If I stayed there again I would book a double room with bathroom instead .

Lovely pkace

Accommodation was excellent, kitchen and communal areas are exceptionally clean and very welcoming.
Location was ideal for a short trip to the ferry port.
A group of grown, older men wanting to relive their youth were a little extreme in their late night drinking and singing antics, not much host can do regarding this as they do not reside on site. Hopefully I woke them at my 0520 start by revving the bike....
Agnes, chambermaid, was very welcoming and a sight for sore eyes too... Pity she didn't join me when she was watching...;)....
Local facilities are ideal, The Holy Grail pub is great for food and drink.

Perfect Stay with a Personal Touch

An absolutely delightful place. Right in the city center, yet it feels like you’re in the countryside. The backyard is lush and green, with trees, raspberries, and even an apple tree – a perfect little escape.
Inside, everything is spotlessly clean. The rooms are small, but honestly, you don’t need anything more – a comfortable bed, a wardrobe, and a table, all thoughtfully arranged. The shared bathrooms work perfectly and are impressively clean and hygienic.
The kitchen is fully equipped, and there’s a cozy living room and dining area that make you feel right at home.
Aggie is kind, welcoming, and incredibly helpful – you can really see that running this place is her passion.
Highly recommended!
