Staff/Management were so kind and welcoming

This is my third time staying at the Commodore hotel Cobh. When I booked a single room I asked for a bath. They have very few baths now due to refurbishment. When I arrived I asked again but understood it probably wasn't possible, a Manager (I assume) over heard me and rearranged my booking so I had a room with a bath. This room was amazing, I had such a relaxing stay, I highly recommend the Commodore and all staff were lovely and so welcoming, I'm really grateful that on a busy Easter weekend they went out of their way for me.

So so

Stayed in the commodore for 2 nights and booked the Westbourne suite… while the suite was beautiful - the room
Was way too warm with no air conditioning or fan in the room it made it very uncomfortable. When the window
Was open we did not realise before we booked the close proximity to
The pub a few doors down and it was very loud and did not quieten down till after 2….. the hair dryer did not also work in the room…also the fire alarm went off in the room early in the morning….

The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. It was very warm in the room. But, my biggest concern was that our bathroom window was on the fire scape and did not close or latch. Someone could have walked right into the room.

Pretty good hotel with a lot of history

Perhaps I'm just biased because my other hotel stays on this trip were so bad, but this was the first night I got a good night's sleep - the room stayed cool and I wasn't kept up by noise (though family, who were located right over the entrance, reported a few people giving long talkative goodbyes outside the building at night - you need your windows open for cooling). There's an elevator (a bit tight), a plus for any historic building (this hotel housed wealthy Titanic passengers back in the day). Location is excellent by the seafront. Room isn't flawless but was in quite good condition, and the bed was comfortable.
