A Georgian House with Wonderful Hosts

We give 5 stars to Collon House located less than an hour’s drive north of Dublin airport. Our hosts Michael and John made the whole experience delightful. The house is a period Georgian structure, exquisitely furnished with large, comfortable rooms, and a magnificent garden. Breakfast was at the guest’s request and could be anything from a full Irish to a simple continental. It is what an Irish country hotel should be. Michael and John can provide advice on and suggestions for places to visit such as the Pre-historic burial grounds, formal gardens and local pubs and restaurants.

A visit back in time with authentic architecture, fine art and gorgeous gardens, with both fancy & comfortable rooms

Immediately transporting you to the timeframe in which you know your ancestors were living in Ireland was a dream I didn't know could be fulfilled. Because of the exquisite and decades-long work of its owners, Collon House helps you relive the experience of living in a longhouse-style home of the 1700s. The authenticity of architecture, materials, colors and artwork was a delight. Breakfast in a glorious diningroom with china, crystal and silver was so special, and the food was absolutely delicious. Host and owner, Michael, helped us jetlagged travelers stay organized and get where we were going safely with great recommendations and guidance. Don't miss a stay here if you are making a visit to Ireland!

This was my favorite leg of my first trip to Ireland with my mother. The house is magnificent, cozy, and beautiful. Our hosts were so welcoming and friendly. We were told about the best restaurants in the neighborhood and some very fun outing during our stay. I will remember this stay fondly for the rest of my life.

Everything about our stay was impeccable! The gardens were absolutely magnificent, the house was beautifully decorated. It was such a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. Our host was truly exceptional- warm and attentive, making us feel right at home. We enjoyed the house so much that we actually canceled our plans to visit the local attractions just to spend more time relaxing in the wonderful rooms and soaking in the serene setting.
