Terrible experience - be aware
I am a member of Setai - HerbertSamuel and entitled to 15% discount on my month birthday so i booked in Jerusalem 31-5 to 1-6 2026
At check-in, no 15% discount.
The people at the counter claim they can not do anything with this reservation and i need to call the reservation center.
I did, but long waiting time pushed me to give up. I here to enjoy.
So i decided to pay the full amount and start my Jerusalem program.
The lady at reception, Shani, contacted her manager Adi and explained this.
This guy was helpful and actually did what the receptionist had to do from the beginning and called me to confirm the refund of 15% on my credit card.
All good.
Room comfort was OK. Breakfast OK - nothing special.
The next day, check out and i really saw on my bill the refund.
On our way back, i get a call from the hotel telling me that the hair-dryer in my room disappeared and that i will be charged 250SH.
Woow - i am a thief !! I am not even sure that the hair-dryer was there at the first place. Imagine how furious i am when i see the charge on my phone.
I call back, ask to speak to a manager. No manager available the guy says. This is not true. There is ALWAYS a manager on duty 24/7 in every hotel.
I insisted telling him i will come back the the hotel.
After a few mins, i am talking to the manager on duty and he starts to explain me that if something is missing they charge.
This is TOTALLY unacceptable from a hotel this level.
I explain the i did not take anything out of my room and that i am deeply hurt from this attitude.
The manager assured me that he will cancel the charge and refund.
A few days later, i got both the birthday refund and the 250SH charge back.
Despite that, I was VERY disappointed with this event and will never go back to Herbert Samuel hotels.
THIS IS NOT A WAY TO TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS.
If you don't take care of your customers, somebody else will.

Christmas at the beginning of the year
A great boutique hotel.
Perfect and central location
For a second we were there.
There was plenty of food for Christmas.
And a great welcome.
The receptionists were very kind.

We arrived for one night (7–8.4) as part of a reservation vacation on Christmas Eve, expecting to refresh – in fact, this was one of the toughest experiences I experienced at the hotel.
From the beginning there were basic problems: dusty sheets that caused allergic rashes, a dirty massage room with sand, and a bed that wasn’t Kevin Saze as ordered but two mattresses connected.
The service was no less disappointing – the booking center provided incorrect information about receipts (important for reserve refunds), and the reception was not trying to help. At check-out we waited for the manager for about half an hour until we were desperate and left, with a clear feeling that no one was taking responsibility.
And then the worst incident: for a long time there was a shocking smell on the floor. We complained twice and was untreated. Only then it turned out that the source of the smell was a body in a state of advanced decomposition that was two rooms from us. Beyond shock, the hotel's conduct was chaotic – we were told it was "not the hotel's fault" and had nothing to do with our experience.
In conclusion, poor cleanliness, unprofessional service and zero guest sensitivity.

Happy with our stay
Check in was a bit of a hassle as I tried to do it on line before arrival, with my virtual credit card. It didn’t work so I had to forgo my credit card rewards points for my hotel stay. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The day after check out I called to report an item left in the room. I feared that I wouldn’t get it back. They found it and I was thrilled ! Kudos to the security staff! The restaurant is nice and the food was good and plentiful. The room was just ok , could have been cleaner. The swimming pool is only indoor and it is too small but ok. In summary I recommend this hotel for a short stay. The location is ideal !
