Vacation for Ascension from April 14 to 17, 2026.

We stayed for 3 nights from May 14 to 17, 2026. I had read about this hotel in a "Guide to the Heart of Italy" from 1988, and since then I wanted to go there. Finally, after traveling the world, we arrived! A historic and classy 5-star hotel. I believe it has preserved its characteristics and qualities that were described so charmingly back then. Meticulously maintained, with well-trained and very friendly staff. Our room, "Suite Marianne," consisted of a very spacious double bedroom and an equally large living room with a comfortable sofa (which was transformed into another double bed for one night to accommodate my daughter). An elegant bathroom with a bathtub and shower, and a second restroom with a toilet and sink. From the room, there is access to a large terrace with a view of the park and surroundings. We dined two evenings in their Stübe Restaurant because there was no availability in their starred restaurant. The atmosphere upon entering was created by the warmth of the environment, with all the classic walls and ceiling made of carved wood depicting various scenes; the capable, friendly staff, elegant in their demeanor, and a typical menu, well-prepared, that truly left us satisfied. The bar area was perfect, where we enjoyed our aperitifs. The reception staff was very kind and friendly, providing us with directions to places to visit. If we were to return to Bressanone, we would definitely keep this hotel in mind.

Hotel with a lot of potential for improvement.

Unfortunately, we were not satisfied, rather extremely dissatisfied with the service and friendliness (except for the room staff and breakfast staff). The best part was the suite on the 3rd floor and the new indoor pool, which was really good; everything else was very disappointing, especially the friendliness in the restaurant was completely absent.
We will certainly not return and definitely not recommend it.

A sensational evening at the Elephant restaurant!

I can only evaluate the restaurant here. It was a sensational evening yesterday. We were so excited about the food, the atmosphere, and the excellent service. Every dish was excellent, and we felt very comfortable. We will definitely come back.

A rare gem with a soul

At the Elephant, hospitality is lived by the Heiss/Falk family and their warm team of tradition and conviction. The new rooms and the new wellness area have been designed with great attention to detail and successfully combine the historic charm of the house with contemporary design. The fact that our grandparents stopped by regularly says everything about the consistency of this hotel as well as its outstanding cuisine. A holistic experience with excellent value for money. We will be back – certainly for many more generations!

embarrassing

although we warned that there would be a vegan person early, once we arrived on site, we were treated with rudeness by the waiters and the head of the room who said they knew nothing. the vegan menu they brought consisted of: bowl of asparagus rings, mixed salad, as a first course 5 bitter asparagus with 5 pieces of boiled potato, as a second course of hard peas and sponge mushrooms. nothing short of embarrassing to get dishes like this out of a kitchen
