A jewel box in a jewelry store

My daughter and I spent 3 nights in this hotel in early May 2026. The staff at the reception, bar, and breakfast room are exceptionally kind and friendly. Our room was spacious and clean with all the necessary accommodations. We enjoyed a magnificent view of the Arno and the Ponte Vecchio. Housekeeping is done every day. The hotel is also very well located, making it easy to do everything on foot.
I recommend this hotel without hesitation, and if I return to Florence, that is where I will go...

Perfect location - lovely hotel with great service

This lovely hotel is a great base for exploring the historic heart of Florence, just a few minutes walk from the most famous sights and galleries. Our rooms were excellent, the service was top quality and breakfast delicious. We also had some lovely drinks and snacks in the small bar. We didn't get a 'Room with a View' over the Arno but I guess we didn't pay for it either! Our room looked over the rooftops and streets which was still very nice, our sons had a view of a wall! : )

Hotel Berchielli, needs a refresh.

We have been going to Berchielli for at least 8 years. We missed 2020 and 2021 because of covid. Last year we couldn't book there because it was unavailable.
Sadly this year has made us decide that we are done with Florence. Our Berchielli was part of that decision.
Pros.
The hotel is in a great position, right next to the historic Ponte Vecchio.
Most of the staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel is very clean.
WiFi is very good.
Cons.
Our room was very small. Sadly, loyalty doesn't guarantee a decent room. They said the hotel was full and couldn't move us.
The aircon was nearly non existent. We had to turn it off at night as it was so loud. I did ask the management about it and they said, "What did I expect? It is 40 degrees outside." Italy is hot in the summer, so the aircon should cope better. They said the aircons are being updated but our room is yet to be renewed.
The TV was a 22in, very old TV. There is no option to mirror our devices or use modern online apps such as Youtube. No digital channels available. I would expect a TV that at least has a fully functioning remote control and signals that don't freeze the pictures.
I wouldn't say the hotel is bad, but it does need so attention to bring it up to modern standards. At the moment I wouldn't give it more than 3 stars.

Everything was very good.

Phenomenal service and cleanliness. Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast, and the rooms are spacious and spotless. Air conditioning that is phenomenal for surviving the heat. Highly recommended and very well located. We hope to return.

Superb

The hotel is easy access and close to everything, cleanliness is 5/5, staff are very professional and accommodating, would always use this hotel whenever i’m in florence. Highly recommended!
