Boutique resort hotel, great location and great value
After nearly two weeks in Puglia (Taranto and south) we decided to head back to Bari for an early flight Sunday and discovered the charming town of Giovinazzo, a few miles north of the airport. Hotel Lafayette is a boutique hotel, very modern, very stylish and about 800 meters north of the historic port and town. It is also handily close to an exit/entrance to SS 16, less than 20 minutes to Bari airport. Although it was out-of-season and the pool closed it is easy to imagine how busy and popular this would be in the summer months. As the weather was still warm and sunny we enjoyed sitting on the large terraces to look at the sea. Breakfast was excellent and the staff very welcoming and attentive. The short drive to Giovinazzo passed a large Family Mart supermarket, which is worth visiting just to admire the huge range of items and the quality of produce. The walk around the centro storico is easy walking with lots of history and beautifully preserved buildings. There are plenty of restaurants to suit all tastes and we particularly enjoyed the stunning Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II and Romanazzi's by the tiny port. We dined on our final evening in the hotel's elegant dining area and found ourselves, surprisingly, to be the only guests, again because out-of-season. Thank you for operating the restaurant and for a perfect end to our Puglia holiday. Great value and helpful staff.

Unfortunately, our stay was extremely disappointing and did not match the expectations created by the listing.
The biggest issue was the noise. We booked two rooms for our family, including children, and the disturbance outside was so excessive that no one in either room could sleep. We contacted the hotel while it was happening and were told the noise was permitted until midnight. However, it continued well past midnight. At approximately 1:00 AM we were still awake due to loud music, shouting and even fireworks. We documented the disturbance and reported it to the hotel.
We were also disappointed by the advertised amenities. The pool was extremely overcrowded throughout our stay, making it very difficult to actually enjoy. The beach was also not what we expected from the listing and involved additional fees that should have been made much clearer before booking.
The property has potential and staff were polite, but a hotel’s most basic responsibility is providing guests with a reasonable environment to sleep. Had the noise conditions, overcrowding and additional beach costs been clearly disclosed, we would not have booked this hotel.
I strongly recommend families clarify these issues before booking.

We were kicked out in a rude manner
The manager is seriously rude, they have no manners, they are squalid people in the true sense of the word..
I was there with my daughter for maybe 40 minutes; the child was playing in the pool because she had found a little friend, and we were kicked out in a rude manner just because we were located at the beach club next door.. yelling in front of people as if we had killed someone; I strongly advise against it

Out of peak season, so some amenities were not available and light above room door wouldn't turn off, but otherwise a great stay!

Very disappointed! No sea view! Loud ....
We are amazed at this 4 star hotel where we stayed 4 nights)

No sea view from our luxury room but a view of a wall
Smell of cigarettes in the room (they recognized but could do nothing but spray deodorant in the morning!!!)
Very Very noisy: private parties until 2 am in the establishment and disco 200 meters away
Aging rooms, exterior redone.
Attention public pool, no deckchairs around!!
Not worthy of a 4 star!!!
