Perfecto

Perfecto. Very nice staff, speaks French. Quiet place, very clean.
Free shuttle to the station every hour.
Nothing to blame, everything was perfect.

Good, without too many pretensions!

Campsite 4 minutes away by shuttle from the Deiva Marina station.
Frequented mainly by foreign tourists (France/Germany).
Not too modern but complete with what is needed.
Several sinks distributed throughout the area, including pitches. Enough bathrooms and showers. Always found it clean!
A convenient base without too many pretensions.
We stayed with our tent.
Cool location in the evening, as there is a lot of greenery around.

Never again.

From the photos on the website, it is not clear that you are stepping back into the 1960s. An old, cramped, sad, bare, dark campsite. It is more accurate to call it a rest area since it does not have a playground, a restaurant, or anything at all. We had paid a deposit; when we arrived, we asked to shorten our stay and only remain for the 2 nights already paid for, but we were told no, that we had to pay the full amount immediately. We have been visiting campsites since 2013, and this is only the second time we have had to pay everything upon arrival.
Positive notes:
- Bathrooms, although a bit old, always have hot showers and are fairly clean.
- If you get the spots below, you will always sleep cool because they are well shaded.
- There is a free shuttle to the station and the beach of Deiva Marina (the sea is not close at all; use this campsite if you need a base for the Cinque Terre and Portofino, but forget it as a vacation campsite).
I would recommend fixing the shuttle since, once you get on, you cannot open the door from the inside due to a broken handle. In case the driver has a health issue, everyone is trapped inside without being able to open the door unless climbing over seats to get to the front... in short, not up to standard!!!

Ageing...

Old place with few places for camper or caravan. Lots of campgrounds, all of which were vacant at this time. Ideal for a short visit to Cinque Terre. Shuttle runs to the station. Nearby pizzeria and grocery store.
Sanitary facilities are very, very old and without any comfort.

Disappointing experience – cramped pitches, limited power, no flexibility

We had booked Le Sfinge for 5 nights but left after only one hour. The pitches were flat, but extremely close together – our caravan’s awning could barely fit. Even more problematic was the fact that the campsite only provides 3 amps of electricity, which made it impossible for us to use the air conditioning, something we really need during the summer months.
Although we had already paid €350 for 5 nights, when we explained that we couldn’t stay, the owner showed no flexibility at all. For such cramped pitches and such limited facilities, this price feels far too high.
On a positive note, the campsite does offer a free shuttle bus to the beach and train station, which could be convenient for some guests. However, as we left the same day, we did not make use of this service.
In short: if you are travelling with a caravan and need more electricity or space, this campsite is unfortunately not recommended.
