A delightful hotel in a walker's paradise
We have walked past this hotel several times in past years, and thought it looked nice, but a bit isolated. But after a simple but delicious lunch we decided we would book the following year. We were really pleased with the decision. The food was excellent and varied (half board), and because the Ritten pass was provided, we simply used the train and bus to get around in between walks, including ane trip to Bolzano.
The accommodation was very comfortable and spotless, with a fantastic view from the balcony (see photo). The family staff were very welcoming, and even sourced a particular favourite local wine for us! We are quite used to being the only English people amongst German and Austrian visitors - we were fortunate to discover Ritten many years ago, but it is still largely unknown to Brits. We would advise half board here, as Ritten doesn't have too many restaurants/ bars, and it is much better value than dining out every night.

Perfect.
After arriving with the train coming from Soprabolzano, on the way to the lake. We asked if we could eat. We were told that the kitchen closed at 14:00, as it was 13:50. They took rating very quickly, we ate a meal, and they treated us super well.

A Perfect Blend of Tradition, Luxury, and Warm Hospitality
We were absolutely delighted with our 3 night stay at this hotel during our 10-day tour of Northern Italy. Everywhere we stayed was nice and we were happy with our choices—but this hotel truly stood out and became a real highlight of the trip.
From the outside, it reflects the traditional architecture of the area, and once inside, the hotel seamlessly blends that tradition with a fresh, modern design.
Our room was fabulous—spacious, stylish, and ideal for relaxing after a day out exploring. The bedroom also had a balcony that didn’t cram in two chairs, but offered real space and a stunning view overlooking the mountains—a perfect spot to unwind. The bathroom felt spacious , with a fabulous walk-in shower that added a sense of indulgence.
The hotel also features a shared living room for guests, beautifully set out and so inviting. We especially loved the huge flat-screen TV, the beautiful modern log fire, a thoughtfully curated collection of books for every taste and age, different games on each table and even an electronic darts game. It was a lovely communal space to relax in.
One of the most heartwarming aspects of this hotel is that it’s run by three generations of the same family. It’s so nice to see them looking after each other and working together. The oldest member of the family made time to say hello and try talk with us (our Italian needs improving) but we managed. He was taking leftovers for the chickens and keeps bees—their honey is served on the breakfast buffet and it’s delicious.
The hospitality was second to none. Our hosts were warm and welcoming, and yes—our motorbike went in the garage! A great bonus for riders. We also appreciated the passes they provided for the train, bus, and cable car to Bolzano—so helpful and thoughtful.
A planned itinerary for a ride through the Dolomites made for one of the best days of our trip. And the food—absolutely excellent. Home-made, traditional dishes were served with a professional and friendly touch and a local Dolomite gin for aperitif—a perfect introduction to the flavors of the region.
We feel incredibly lucky to have discovered this gem. It far surpassed our expectations and left us with such wonderful memories. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.

The kindness
We stayed for two nights with our dog. Brand new room, cozy, balcony with coffee table where I could write and think looking at the mountains. But what amazed us, was the kindness, the attention, the care towards the guests. The grandfather who came to ask how dinner had gone, the suggestions since check in for walks and the possibility of bringing with us to the table the dog. And, we didn't expect it, birthday wishes and the little gift prepared on the breakfast table, since the overnight stay coincided with a special occasion. Recommended, the Prast family really deserves so much satisfaction! We will definitely be back.

Family Excellence
The warm welcome of the Prast family is a guarantee for a perfect holiday! The rest is done by a beautiful, modern, spotless structure, all cared for with passion. And finally, excellent cuisine, for true gourmets. In short, highly recommended.
