Mobility issues not a problem at this property
The service throughout the hotel has been exceptional. Every staff member we've encountered has been warm, professional, and eager to help.
On our first night, we ordered room service, and the food exceeded our expectations. Everything was delicious, and the meatball appetizer was an absolute standout - definitely a must-try!
The hotel's location is also fantastic, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. Overall, we've had a wonderful experience and would gladly stay here again.

Far Below W Hotel Standards
I paid over €1,000 per night, so I expected a luxury experience. Unfortunately, that wasn’t what I received.
Every single night, we’d come back from dinner to find our room extremely hot. It felt like the A/C had been turned off or a window had been left open, but neither was the case. The first night, I called the front desk, and they agreed something was wrong and sent maintenance. They spent over 30 minutes working on the A/C in the ceiling after 1:00 AM. That is not how anyone wants to spend their vacation, especially at this price point.
The next day, the hotel moved us to another room. I appreciated the effort, but the exact same issue happened again. That night, I had to call the front desk once more, and maintenance spent nearly an hour trying to repair the A/C in the middle of the night.
As if that wasn’t enough, checkout was another frustrating experience. A staff member came to collect our luggage and took two of our suitcases. I told him to give me one minute because I was zipping up the last bag. He specifically told me, “Please don’t rush, take your time. I’ll wait right here.” I kid you not, less than two minutes later I opened the door and he was gone.
Because my taxi had arrived, I had to carry the remaining luggage downstairs myself. When I got to the lobby, the two suitcases he had already taken were nowhere to be found. I then had to spend additional time asking multiple employees where my luggage was and searching for it myself. At that point, I was completely fed up.
I explained everything to the front desk and expressed how disappointed I was. Their solution was to offer me 20,000 Marriott Bonvoy points. After spending well over €1,000 per night and dealing with multiple nights of A/C issues, maintenance working in my room after 1:00 AM, being moved to another room with the exact same problem, and then having my luggage misplaced during checkout, that gesture felt completely inadequate.
The most disappointing part is not just that there were problems. It’s that every day seemed to bring another issue, and instead of enjoying my vacation, I spent my time dealing with problems that should never happen at a luxury hotel.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others. If you’re deciding between luxury hotels in Rome, I would strongly recommend staying at The Rome EDITION instead. I stayed there just a few weeks earlier and had an excellent experience. The only reason I booked the W Rome this time was because the EDITION was sold out. Given how great my experiences have been at other W Hotels around the world, I expected the same standard here. Unfortunately, this property fell far short of that expectation.
I genuinely hope someone from senior management reaches out because this experience was unacceptable and fell well below the standards I associate with both the W brand and Marriott. As it stands today, I will never return to this property, and I cannot recommend it to anyone looking for a luxury stay in Rome.
