Good facilities

Guests are mainly Japanese & staff speak no English. Wifi in hotel lobby only. Good onsen. Expensive buffet restaurant. Table tennis, pool table etc in lobby area. Free shuttle to station. Bus stop and 7-11 very close-by. Rooms nice and spacious, with sitting area. Not cheap but, relative to other hotels nearby, not bad value.

Back to the 1990s

Great location, friendly staff and spacious rooms.
The hotel looks like it's been frozen in time from the 1990s with old Skool Mario Kart, table tennis and pool. The rooms are clean but beds are hard and decor dated.
Bathroom is small
Spa is good and better to have a bath there than the room.

One night stay

Hotel is walking distance from Hakone yumoto station. Steep slope from main road to hotel. Receptionist can speak simple English. Check in was quick. Room is spacious but no kettle provided. Hotel restaurant was fully booked & no restaurant nearby, so have to walk about 15 minutes to a family mart to buy food.

Feels haunted..

We only stayed one night at this hotel but we will ever stay again. The hotel is not exactly easy to find but all you have to do is ask the tourist information centre at the station and they can tell you how to get there. It was about a 5-10min walk. We arrived there evening (it was already dark then) and the hotel just felt haunted. It was old though clean, and it was eerily quiet. We only saw a group of old Japanese women walking to/from the onsen (which we didn't visit as we were too freaked out). The hotel corridors and lift felt like where a Japanese horror movie would be filmed.. In our room, even the lights weren't bright, they were dim.. And the sleep, well, we didn't sleep the whole night because we were too scared.. The whole hotel jsut felt haunted. The staff don't speak any English and there was no wifi in the rooms.

Dont be fool by Hotel website.....Not so near from Yumoto Station

We stayed for 1 night, book via agoda. From the hotel website, it stated within walking distance from Yumoto Station. When we reached Yomoto Station, it was heavy rain and we were not able to locate Asuka hotel. Checked with people around, not many knew exact location of this hotel. We were misled by 7 eleven shop.....though is the one near the Yomoyo Station but we were told there is'nt any Hotel Asuka around. Then, we visited Hakone Tourist Information Centre, the staff there is so helpful and help us to phone the hotel side. Then, we were asked to wait and hotel to send van to fetch us. Another suprised, the location is actually not near to Yomoto Station.
Then, we were informed by reception to pay extra for addtional 2 kids, eventhough no extra bed provided. Room is big and bed is comfortable. No Wifi......can access internet using lobby internet access.
After hotspring(onsen), we couldnt find any restaurant near this hotel and ended up got to settle our dinner at Hotel Restaurant. It serves buffer dinnere......good but not cheap.
We ended paid USD600++ in this hotel for just only ONE night. Our most expensive hotel stay in Japan. But, I must confess, staffs are very friendly and helpful.
