The property was lovely, and clean. Beds were very comfy. It would have been good to have a tea towel and dish rack, to be able to wash dishes properly. Also would have been good to know where to take the rubbish; didn’t like leaving it all there like that.

Renovated traditional Japanese house, located near Gion. 24 hours supermarket within 50 steps, coin laundry within 30 steps. Very convenient for site seeing
Only improvement I would recommend is better (and brighter) lighting
Will recommend to other travelers

Beautiful traditional machiya very close to transit and walkable to many places. Laundry on the corner and grocery around the block. The stairs to the second floor were quite steep and the first floor could have used some more furniture, but really no real complaints

More comments Trip@dvisor - "Kyoto Resident Experience" - December 2024. Roomy for our family of four adults; manager was very responsive to our requests; neighborhood offers nice dining and shopping, including a useful grocery store around the corner.
Higashiyama subway station is very close, and Gion is a leisurely walk south.
