Although the staff were mostly able to speak English, many of the signs were only in Japanese. This included the instructions on the toilet and the kettle. Google came to the rescue and translated whatever we needed.
The restaurant staff were very helpful and even gave us a tour of the extensive buffet the first evening. The buffet food was delicious and plentiful.
Our room was twice as big as we expected, which was a nice surprise! I wonder if we accidentally reserved a suite, which would certainly account for the high price. 🤔
There was a bedroom and separate living room, each with its own flat-screen television.
The air-conditioning worked well, as did the remote control for the room lights, which provided good lighting.
The bathroom was big, too, and like the living room it had windows looking out on the sea.

Always on top

Third stay in four years.
The private baths are top, there is a choice between 6 different and we can stay there as much as we want, it's great.
The public baths open to the outside (rotenburo) are great)-nice also.
Indoor public baths are worse from my point of view.
The buffet is great, whether for dinner or breakfast. Special mention to the cutting of fish live either at 17:30 or at 19:00. This time it was "buli". Other times it was more like tuna.
The sashimi (tuna, buli, sea bream) were excellent.
For dessert, do not miss the afelstrudel house that makes the hotel proud. The other desserts have absolutely no interest.
The rooms are very nice and very comfortable.

Go for the warm baths!

The bathing facilities are what makes this place special and memorable. Lots of people walked around in colourful bathrobes (Yukata), giving the place a relaxed atmosphere.
I went to one of several bathing facilities. There is separation by sex, but once inside, it is "textile free." You shower in one of many open stations, and then enjoy the hot pool. It was shallow and not suitable for swimming, but it provided an enjoyable soaking experience.
The breakfasts were rather crowded, but offered a generous variety of food, both western and Japanese. The same could be said for their dinner buffet.
Our room was large and with a sea view, but lacked an in-room safe.

Cozy Ryokan

Use for a trip to Kashikojima, Toba and Ise Jingu in 3 days and 2 nights from 25 October 2025
It was very convenient for a car-free trip as it was close to the station! I stayed at the South Building, but the view was also good.
Above all, the staff were kind and comfortable!
The route from the room to the hot spring village and the restaurant may be a little troublesome, if I may say so.
The flow of food was also stagnant at the seafood bowl booths, so it might be better to space the ingredients a bit more ~ and it would be nice to have space for trays as it is hard to serve trays in one hand ~
