perfect location in Maasai Mara
The most picturesque spot in Maasai Mara. Sitting above the Mara River filled with hippos, this lodge was perfect homebase for our game drives. The food was incredible. Our "tents" were not what you envision, very luxurious and clean. Bathrooms/showers were amazing and up to day, beds were very comfortable. Staff was SO attentive. Friday night dinner they had local Maasai dancers sing and dance, the bar had everything we requested, the pool was perfect for relaxing between our morning and evening game drives.

Very nice stay in the middle of all the felines.
We ended our trip with a 3 night stay in this camp. Wow, what a closer. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
We were served by Amos throughout our stay and had a nice table near the water. Amos was very attentive and friendly also towards our son. He made an immediate effort the first night to learn our names.
Our room was near the pool and also had a view of the river, this was very nice between game drives. The hotel was "all in", but eg sparkling water was paying, which is a bit strange. Every evening we could choose from a menu and everything was always very tasty and taken care of.In the evening there is a "campfire" in a very cozy corner. This was nice to stay after a long exhausting day.
The enclosure is located in the middle of the park, so as soon as you drive jeep outside you can immediately encounter animals. We've come across a lot of lions here, cheetahs, leopards,... and even some snakes.
We will definitely come back here again.

Excellent staff and an amazing place to stay.
We stayed at Ashnil Mara Camp for three nights. This place is amazing. We had four tents. These tents are luxurious. Their staff is amazing. They had a dedicated person for our family in their lounge. All members of their staff are very welcoming, helpful and always cheerful. We highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit masai Mara.

Amazing location & attentive staff
The location of these lodges is great in the middle of the Masai Mara and you can hear the hyenas and lions at night. The atmosphere was lovely, friendly, welcoming and all staff were very helpful.
The rooms were good, although it would be helpful if the tips of spraying for insects when leaving for dinner were written in the folders. Mosquito nets and sides were rolled down every evening. The beds were on the hard side and my daughter was sleeping on the sofa - which sadly gave her a sore back as it was sooo hard.
The food was really good, with a great pasta station which the kids loved.
The view of the river from the bar was beautiful with hippos and crocodiles but it was a shame we didn’t have a river view from our tent.
I wouldn’t hesitate to return here.

Best time ever!
Ashnil was my first experience of a lodge on a safari and it did not disappoint. When I think about my first Safari, Ashnil holds a special place. I went February 2025 for 2 nights and out of the 4 lodges, I stayed at, it was my best and I would return in a heartbeat.
For me, the food was great. It was buffet style but the options were all great. The tent was also lovely. I asked for a river facing tent and got that where I could hear the hippos. If I had one tiny negative, it was that my tent was way at the back so it was a good 10 minute walk to get to the front ( this is minor though )
The staff were lovely. If I remember correctly, my waiter Edwin was so kind so attentive. As soon as he spotted me entering the dining area, he was quick to meet me. Also, I went for my birthday. I can’t remember the manager or team leader name, but he greeted me when I arrived. He was average height with a light complexion. But when I said it was my birthday and I was all alone, he arranged a birthday cake and the lovely staff sang. I will never forget that memory. I only wish I would have stayed longer.
I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of my stay. From watching the hippos, the lovely room ( hot water bottle in bed ), the nice staff, the game drives. I will return to Ashnil 100%
