Lovely place

Very nice and very friendly good English speaking staff !
Really welcoming the first impression is nice , yes it is not luxury hotel if someone is looking for that,but clean room is also fine to stay. Breakfast is served in time you like and is all fine with fresh fruits vegetables, atmosphere is really very good, without any doubts can come back and stay here again . At the evening time is working restaurant at summer time you can choose to seat outside on nice Terra's or inside .
We like to be here very much !

A guesthouse, not a hotel...

Typical guesthouse with only 5 rooms. The furnishings are acceptable, although cheap. Good bed pillows, but the mattress is hard. NO soundproofing.
The restaurant is closed, there is no reception as such. The included breakfast only serves cold cuts.
Verdict - acceptable for one night, but no more.

An excellent place from which to explore the region

We wanted to visit the Gauja National Park, and we chose Cesis as a base from which to do this. This hotel was just what we wanted: it is not a luxury hotel, but our room was clean and well-appointed, and our bed very comfortatable. The staff were very friendly, although we were glad that we had learned a few words of Latvian, as this made communication significantly easier.
We should also mention the splendid breakfasts. We came downstairs to a magnificent spread of bread, cheese, meat, fruit and fresh eggs on both mornings that we were there.
We came to Cesis by car (I suspect that it might be rather hard to get there by public transport), but the hotel has plenty of parking spaces. On the other hand, the hotel is very central - just a short walk away (through a pretty park) from the historic centre of the town. In short, if you wish to explore the Gauja National Park, this is a great base from which to do so.

Province Hotel, Cesis, Latvia

Lovely hotel in Cesis with very friendly staff and an excellent restaurant.
It is a simple hotel and the room was comfortable, even though the bed was very hard. Spacious bathroom. No tea making facilities. Very good breakfast and within walking distance of all Cesis has to offer. Restaurant is part of the hotel and the food is delicious with big portions. Lovely terrace in the summer time.

In restaurant ok service, but not the food

We were told that this place has best food in Cēsis. If it is so, then I'm sorry for everyone there. The portions were very large, but unfortunately not very tasty. Most things lacked salt and there was no salt and pepper on the table also. Did not like the soup, did not like the chicken. the only thing that was edible was salad, but it also could have done with less oil.
