La relación precio- calidad es muy buena, obtienes lo que pagas sin embargo en el sitio al realizar la reservación cuentan con fotos mostrando que se encuentran a la orilla de la Laguna con acceso directo, siendo este el principal motivo para reservar ahí, en la zona hay diferentes opciones al mismo precio con acceso directo a la laguna,es una propiedad con buena ubicación sin embargo es un sitio enfocado más para llegar a dormir y visitar la zona mientras realizas excursiones y tours, no para poder quedarte en la propiedad todo el día y disfrutar nadando.

First, you will have to pay the property in cash or by transfer. No credit card. Even if we got there around 4 pm, the owner sent us a message around 9pm at night that we need to pay the total amount in cash or by money transfer.
Toilet doesn’t flush properly and the shower will be cold or burning hot. Also, no water pressure. We’ve contacted the owner multiple time and she kept telling us there is a way to get a warm shower but it never worked at the end so we gave up asking. We also had to change a bulb light ourself. When we asked for housekeeping, we got a broom and been told to do it. No cleaning products and no brush for the toilet. We were worried about the black mold on the roof and the smell in the room.
We were there for 10 days so it has been a long time sleeping in the same sheets and trying to keep the room clean with not even basics.
I think this place is ok for 1-2 nights, but not for long term. I’m not sure if this is a hotel, motel or airbnb… Maybe we didn’t understand the concept of this… They don’t have much to offer… Just a place to sleep. The positive point is that the bed was very comfortable.

No customer service or way to contact the hotel. Still waiting for our refund.

We were supposed to stay in a room with lake view at Casa Ichkabal. This was not available once we arrived, which can happen of course. We asked the receptionist if we could still cancel, cause we wanted to look for a hotel that did have a room at the lake - which is the main reason people visit Bacalar. 'Yes' he said, and free of charge. We left, booked another hotel and waited for the cancellation. This never happened, a refund was never received, the hotel didn't reply to all our emails and is not picking up the phone. Don't tell us we can cancel if you're not intending to refund our money!!

Het uitzicht vanuit het hotel is erg mooi, omdat het aan het meer ligt. Dit is echter het enige pluspunt. Het weg om bij het hotel te komen is ten eerste heel erg slecht. De kamer is heel erg basic, en ziet er niet netjes uit. Er zitten vlekken op de muren en ook zat er een gele vlek op het dekbed. De wc bril zat los en kon niet helemaal open blijven staan. De gordijnen van de kamer waren zo dun dat er veel licht doorheen kwam, en de lichten in de gang bleven snachts aan waardoor het erg licht was in de kamer. Rond 7 uur werd het ontbijt voorbereid en dit was erg goed te horen. De kamer is erg gehorig. Uitslapen was dus geen optie. Het ontbijt was basic maar prima. Er zaten alleen wel erg veel vliegen bij het ontbijt.

Y no lo digo por lo descuidado y viejo, o por las manchas y desconchones que hay por todos lados.... Sino por que en la casa contigua se pone reggaeton a todo trapo durante todo el día y parte de la noche... Haciendo imposible el descanso y el relax buscado
Por otra parte, las cortinas no tapan la habitación y si te toca una en planta baja estas sujeto a miradas indiscretas con cero de intimidad.
Las cerraduras de las habitaciones son de risa (ver fotos) y contando que no disponen de caja fuerte en su interior...
Si reservas una habitación con vistas a la laguna... Asegúrate de que sea en planta alta, por que si te toca una en planta baja, lo que tendrás es una vista explendida del buffe desayuno (incluido los ruidos matutinos del mismo)
Para acabar, la ginda del pastel la pone el acceso al hotel... Una calle sin asfaltar llena de socabones solo apto para todo terrenos.
