AWESOME JEWEL IN LO DE MARCOS

We had a spacious room w kitchen (there are only 4 on the property) on the 2nd floor, overlooking an intriguing botanical garden. Everyone was very gracious and helpful. The Lo De Marcos beach is a 5 min walk down a rocky path, but the real jewel is at Playa Venados, a 5 min drive to the end of the road. Right around the left corner of Playa Venados is an even nicer beach with beautiful water and waves for body surfing, rivaling those you would find on Kauai. The town of LDM is small, and in some places a bit decrepit, but exceedingly safe, friendly and cheap. We used our stay as a base camp to drive to other places and rented boats to visit Isla Coral, Islas Marietas and the surf breaks near Punta Mita. I would highly recommend staying here if you enjoy a more low key vs. high end vacation experience.
