Perfect base for exploring Fes and surrounding cities!

The Perla Hotel was our base for the week whilst exploring Fes, Tangier and Chefchaouen. It was perfect for what we needed. Close to the train station, 20min walk to the Medina and lots of restaurants and cafes near by. The hotel is basic but clean with traditional deco, our room was a good size (we put two singles together!) a decent bathroom and a little balcony to watch the world go by. The breakfast was basic but delicious. The staff and owners of the hotel were fantastic! Mounds, Othman and Mounir were Friendly and really helpful, they made our stay at Perla perfect. I would absolutely recommend this hotel if you are exploring the area! We had the best week!

Ripped off with the price?...

We ended up at this hotel by chance because hotel Ibis was full. We went on a trip by car on the coupon and did not want a hotel in the middle of the city because of the car crowds.
Parking is available in front of this hotel.
Only we strongly suspect that the woman in question calculated us much more. On Booking.com there is a Max of €41 per night. She charged us €65 a night. We had two nights taken away. Stupid of us not to check Booking.com...Good luck to her with her well deserved money....(sarcastic)
Our room was overdue in maintenance. Door of the balcony could not be locked. The shower had mold. The head could not be aimed properly either, so I preferred to make it a hand shower instead of hanging the head. We had to ask for towels, which were very hard. The ‘restaurant’ didn’t seem to be used..
after the first night was even asked if we had paid yet... (was not the woman in question, but a colleague of hers...)
It's a short taxi ride to the medina. And it's more than worth it.

Worst hotel in my life!

Guys, really! Don't even consider it!! My friend and I called it “Topaia” since we saw the room. Sheets clearly recycled from different uses! Full of hair, hair and stains!!!!! After almost 7 hours of motorbike we did not want to discuss with the owner (
Very peculiar). Dirty, scruffy, run-down bathroom! No really guys, the worst hotel of my life

Cheap - but not so cheerful

The main (only?) avantage of this hotel is that it is close to the railway station - useful if you're coming in and out of Fes by train. Also, it is not very expensive.
I'm not one to criticise cheap hotels for minor flaws - if you're in a two star, don't expect five star treatment (unlike some of the other reviewers in this thread). However, a couple of things I didn't like:
- I arrived at 12 noon, but was told check-in was not until 3. This appeared to be a strict house rule - so had to kill 3 hours before getting access to the room;
- No breakfast. They don't do breakfast. Never ever came across that.
Also, the toilet didn't flush properly. This is a basic
