Exceeded all expectations

What an amazing place to stay. So beautifully decorated, clean and peaceful. And a wonderful location. It was really the staff who made it special. From the front desk, to the cleaning staff to the servers and cooks on the roof, everyone was kind, helpful and fun-loving. This riad and all its services, especially the hammam, exceeded all expectations. We are filled with gratitude that we got to stay in such an exceptional place. And Omar is a great driver!

A beautiful Riad in the heart of the medina

Riad Laaroussa is in the heart of the medina with a swimming pool which enables guests to cool off after a day of exploring.
Staff are very kind and helpful and can arrange taxis, tour guides etc. Rooms are spacious Ours was on the top floor so lots of stairs to navigate. We did have an evening meal on the rooftop terrace of the Riad’s restaurant. The food was very good and the views are stunning. Nice to sit there with a glass of wine in the evening.

An oasis of calmness and luxury in heart of Medina

This Riad is exquisite in every way possible. We were met at entrance to the medina by hotel porter who brought us to the riad which is located in the centre of the medina, up a very inauspicious cul-de-sac alley but don’t fret. When you enter this beautiful sophisticated riad, having climbed the steps to the huge door, you enter a beautiful calming, verdant courtyard with it’s three resident tortoises, and you will come to appreciate this courtyard and riad even more when you return back after exploring the madness of Fès. The friendly staff could not be more attentive and responsive to requests.
We were fortunate to have the Gaétan room which had two glass doors opening up into another beautifully planted courtyard and a reading room area. Our room was delightful with complimentary filtered water, robes and babouche slippers which guests can keep ( sadly mine were too small). The huge bathroom had toiletries provided.
The restaurant is located on the rooftop terrace with great city views and can be accessed by stairs or elevator. The food, wines (some local) and service were wonderful. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here. There is also an indoor rooftop dining area. Olive oils are sourced from the owners’ own nearby estate. Make sure to reserve your table.
There is also a third courtyard area with a heated swimming pool with plenty of seating and shade.
Do book a hammam and massage well in advance as it is worth every penny!
We booked a cookery lesson on a recommendation from riad - go for it!
We also had the privilege of meeting the proprietors, Fred, who explained the restoration, and his family’s passion for this riad.
Thank you to you and your staff for courtesy, attentiveness and care of your guests. Our stay was so special and our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer!

Beautiful Riad with great service!

Enjoyed a very pleasant stay in the Grey Suite at Riad Laaroussa! Very spacious and clean room, with comfortable arm chairs and beautiful details with high ceilings. There are plenty of garden areas throughout the Riad to relax without running into other guests. The space is truly beautiful, with intricate architecture everywhere you look. Really appreciated having the pool to cool off after sightseeing! Service is great, the staff is very attentive in every area of the Riad, you can tell that they really go out of their way to ensure they deliver great service. The rooftop was perfect for a drink or a meal, with lots of different seating spaces to choose from.
We also enjoyed the massage and Hammam. It’s a private space that can cater for 2 guests at the same time. Sarah and Bahea (sorry if I have the spelling wrong) were fantastic, it was the perfect relaxing experience at the end of our stay.
The Riad is perfectly positioned, just a short turn away from one of the main stretch. Far enough to feel you’ve escaped the buzz of the souks but not nestled too deep that it’s hard to find!

An amazing place to stay

Yes, you should definitely stay at Riad Laaroussa! We only spent one night here, but I wish we could have spent many more. Riad Laaroussa was such a lovely spot in a vibrant and busy medina. A porter met us at the parking lot, a few minutes walking distance outside the medina wall, and guided us to the riad. Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the beauty of the courtyard and the friendliness of the staff. We arrived a bit early, so we had a snack at the rooftop restaurant while we waited for our room to be ready.
We stayed in the Ghizlane room, and it was our favorite room of everywhere we stayed in Morocco. It was spacious, clean, equipped with both an AC unit and a fan, and the bed was so comfortable. Seriously, I want to know where they get their sheets from! There was a cozy reading room outside our door that was technically open to any guest, but it felt like our own private living room.
Breakfast was included with our room and served on the rooftop terrace. It was a beautiful place to have a meal. Breakfast included eggs, two delicious kinds of bread, cake, jams, honey and peanut butter spread, yogurt, homemade granola, fruit, coffee, and juice. I wish all of my breakfasts were as good as this one.
I can't say enough wonderful things about this riad!

Dear Hana,
Thank you so much for your feedback — it was truly a pleasure having you at the riad for a short time, and we’re so happy you enjoyed your stay with us.
We always say that one night in Fes is never enough… many guests leave wishing they had stayed longer. Hopefully next time, you’ll have more time to slow down and fully enjoy the city.
We would love to welcome you back again soon.
