Magical Trip to Morocco

Wonderful place that made us truely feel welcome and had such a good Moroccan feel, easy to walk to the square, breakfast was lovely and sitting on the roof enjoying the sunshine was fantastic the evening meal was great, we both had lamb tagine.

Excellent riad

Had a lovely time staying here. We stayed in the rooftop room which was amazing. The staffs were really helpful. The day we arrived one of the staff gave us a map and showed us all the places which was really helpful. For breakfast they had a variety of breads and cakes which was really delicious. The rooms were very clean and they changed the towels and made our beds everyday. Loved the traditional hammam and the massage, it was really relaxing. On the last day of our stay our friend had an accident so we couldn’t checkout on time but they were nice enough to let us take our time. Overall the room, staff everything was perfect I have no complaints.

Poor customer service and not a true riad. Disappointed. Poor location.

We are quite unhappy with this stay. We were friends traveling and had two rooms. The rooms themselves were OK. Unfortunately, no windows to open (even on 2nd floor) and we could only open a window into the hotel, which meant other guests could see us. The beds were so-so, a little hard. Rooms were spacious though.
Wifi was unusable. Staff admitted it was poor. I could send emails, but that was about it. No Facetime/Skype/WhatsApp video. Difficult to even use Instagram/Facebook.
Water pressure was good and water was hot. Water wouldn't drain in our shower, so we were standing in our dirty water.
Breakfast was just pastries, bread, crepes and each morning it would take 15-20 minutes and the crepes weren't even that warm. Had to ask for tea several times.
Staff was never really around to interact with and English was so-so. When we had a billing problem on checkout we spent over an hour. Our online travel agent was amazing, but they just needed to talk to the hotel staff to charge a virtual credit card. The staff would just hand me back the phone and walk away and start talking on their phone. We were beyond frustrated. We tried to get someone who spoke French/Arabic to call, but they wouldn't get off the phone to let our call through. I even caught them on Facebook/texting on WhatsApp while I'm trying to get them to deal with the problem.
The location isn't great. It's on the very edge of the medina/kasbah. At least 15 minutes walk to the main square and the souks. Taxis necessary to the gardens.
Oh and their prebooked rates are 2-3x what a street taxi will charge.
Finally, this isn't a true riad. It's a guesthouse. This false advertising is rampant in Marrakech.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Lots of other ones around.

Relaxing and elegant

We enjoyed our stay in this elegant and relaxing riad in Marrakech. We suggest Le Desir because of the good location, the clean rooms, the excellent breakfast served in the terrace. Nice staff also! Parking lot in the neighborhood.

very noisy and very dark

the riad is located just on a large road with high traffic, so very noisy in the evening and early Morning. The cheapest rooms located on the ground floor have no window - just a very small opening - so it is very dark. The riad has also no open roof in the courtyard, which also makes it very dark.
In the evening it is also very difficult to find the riad in the dark.

Very good location
