Riad to avoid, mediocre, leaky air conditioner, used towel, damaged electrical outlet, MM the family that rented the room above, did not have electricity.. No wifi, room of 12m2 although it was indicated 20m2 on Booking the owner Pierre Vasseur is indifferent, disrespectful, he smokes h24 and smokes us from breakfast..

POOR EXPERIENCE AND RISK OF CHOKING ON SMOKE EXHALATIONS CAUSE CONTACTS WIRE CONDITIONER THEN BURNS

I report a very serious episode that happened during my recent stay, mine and my friend from 7 to 11 June 2025 at the RIAD JARDIN DE MINA 338 Rue Derb Jdid, Marrakech 40000, Morocco.
During the night, the air conditioner installed in our room suddenly ignited, turning into a real fireball in seconds.
The causes appear to be an internal spark, presumably due to an electrical defect or a flammable gas leak. The fire happened at night while we were in the room, and only by pure miracle we were not seriously injured.
I send attached photos of how the room looked after the incident, Please note that, due to the fire, it was necessary to intervene promptly and enter the room to retrieve our computers, luggage and clothing, which had been completely exposed to smoke.
In addition, it should be noted that, thanks exclusively to the timely intervention of our neighbors, it was possible to extinguish the fire using buckets of water, which were the only means available at the time, in the riad there were no fire extinguishers.
I would like to stress the extreme seriousness of what happened: it was a potentially lethal event, probably avoidable with proper maintenance and installation of the plant.
Upon our arrival, we had promptly signaled that the air conditioner had given off a spark when it turned on, suggesting the need for a technical check. However, the owner of the riad dismissed the matter with a smile of circumstance, without attaching due importance to our reporting.
I highly recommend this Riad, especially for the total indifference shown by the (French) holder on the occasion of this obvious serious problem occurred during the stay. Faced with a serious situation, the person responsible completely disinterested himself, avoiding any form of support or assistance, in an obvious and unacceptable way. An attitude that denotes a lack of professionalism and total lack of respect for guests.
