Awesome gîte with very friendly owners

Awesome Gîte. Friendly, clean, well priced. Hosts were awesome and super friendly, making great food and even a packed lunch for my hike. Well situated close to the start of some good hiking trails and the area is absolutely stunning. Would highly recommend a visit to Ouirgane and staying

Fantastic

We stayed here with three motorcycles on a trip around Morocco. Eight days later we voted this place as having the tastiest and best food, the warmest welcome and the tidiest rooms of the whole trip. The owner even gave up one of his own family rooms to accommodate us!

Great hospitality and very hygienic hotel

Gite du Lac is a delightful place.
Ahmed doesn't speak any english (and to our shame we no french or arabic) but to his credit he quickly arranged a local guide and made us feel welcomed.
We stayed for two nights and because of the traumatic experience we had at the Marrakech bus station (OMG!), he arranged our onward journey to Ouarzazete from the daily bus which passes through Ouirgane en route to Marrakech.
The meals were lovely and the hotel very tranquil. If you find yourself here without any french or Arabic, ask for Mohammed who worked wonders and organised a trek upinto the mountains and a home cooked rustic berber tagine in a humble rural farmhouse overlooking the ouirgane valley.

Overcharged

We had a pleasant stay at Gite du Lac. The service was good and the room/bathroom reasonably clean. However we eventually left with a bad taste in our mouth, as the owner charged us more than we had agreed. Despite our good experience, honesty is a minimum standard. For that reason I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
