Short break

Fantastic and affordable hotel with Fantastic views of the the marina from the 4th floor restaurant.
Staff in general were first rate with a special mention to the management and staff at the restaurant who looked after us like royalty.
I'll definitely be back, keep up the good work

Steps and steps

Well located just across the road from the marina, but up a steep and very close to a extremely noisy bar/nightclub. (Little chance of sleep) The rooms are basic to good, but why hide the towels at the furthest point from the bathroom. Breakfast is basic but adequate, a bit USA orientated. Big note, there are steps everywhere!
Warning; they do not have a system to prevent duplicate key cards, one was produced, and used, for the room I occupied, luckily the standard procedure of placing the main bag by the door prevented full entry.

Just to be careful there.

I've been in this bar and
One of the stuff (the waiter) was verry rud and racist to me because i was a stranger so I have had to move to another placethe where the waiter nourddine works ,the guy from kenitra, anyway nourddine knows who I am talking about.
The place was ok for someone Who just want to have fun with the girls of this bar and enjoy music but i just want to tell you to be careful as one of them stole my phone.

Time for a big refurb.

I've stayed there a few times with my wife in the past. The location is great but the it's time to get the paint brush out of the pot and start decorating and cleaning. The bedding has seen better days and the bathroom is a disgrace. A shower drain that does not drain. The lid of the single rubbish bin was filthy. Very mean with the soap :-( As I said before location is great but the whole hotel is very tired. Finally what was really annoying was they said the VISA machine was not trustable so I had to pay cash, why bother with the VISA machine if you cannot use it. So to sum up. "Sharf" you've got a great location why do you blow it by having a very unloved hotel???

Better than all the others near the Ferry

We arrived in Tangier on a Sunday at Midnight without reservations so we took a cab to a centrally located hotel along the main drag (Mohammed VI) and walked around and checked the rates and conditions at various Hotels along (and near) that road. Hotel Charf was the hands down winner!! It had A/C. It had an Elevator. The room had its own bathroom. It had a Free Breakfast. All for a reasonable rate. It was a very good hotel. The room was a good size. Everything worked. Actually, the TV didn't work, but once we didn't get a picture we turned it off and did other things.
The breakfast was served in the top floor restaurant. We also enjoyed a fine dinner in that restaurant, so you don't have to go wandering around figuring out where to eat (although we did that, too!!).
The Wi-fi worked as you were closer to the entry way of the room, and it worked in the lobby. That was good enough for us.
Any front desk personnel was friendly and helpful. Other guests in the hotel were all cool.
The Hotel is one block in from Mohammed VI, but the lot in front of it is empty so you have a view of the water. Maybe in a few years a building will obstruct its view, but that's years from now!! I'll note that you do have to go up a hill to get to Hotel Charf, so if that's an issue you have to think about it. But we were carrying luggage and we could do it, so it wasn't insurmountable. And compared to all of the prior Hotels we checked that didn't have A/C or Elevator or non-shared bathroom, it was a treat.
We were on the second floor (reception was floor zero) and noise wasn't a factor. It sounded like guys were getting into a discussion down the block at 4am one morning (there are discos & other businesses nearby) but what do you expect in a busy city? We've heard worse in NYC at that hour. And things quieted down just as quickly as they started up so that wasn't an issue. It's not as if Tangier would be quiet!!
All good. I'd stay at this place again if I go to Tangier.
