Excellent accomodation

The manager is very nice. She does the maximum for the stay to be as good as possible. We could check in at 09:30 then she gave use many advises about activities, restaurants, etc. The room was very clean. Hot water 24/24. Good Wifi available in a room where we can prepare coffee or tea. As we woke up at 06:00 to go to Etosha, she prepared us some breakfast boxes.

A complete disappointment

We are a couple of backpackers who have been travelling for over six months now in Africa. So we have had a lot of different experiences and are pretty easy going people. The night we checked in, the couple were very nice and accommodating but the next morning was a very different story. We were the only people in our 20USD/pp dorm bed, and were woken with loud banging and loud voice telling us our departure was in 45 minutes (9:15am). We had been camping for 5 days and just wanted to lay in comfort and not get treated like children. My boyfriend got up, went to the kitchen and told the woman “just so you know the wake up call this morning wasn’t necessary.” She did not like that comment and said “excuse me I’d like to show you something right now.” She brought him over to the kitchen and said “is this the way you found the kitchen when you got here” when all of the counters were wiped clean and all the dishes clean and placed in the drying rack beside the sink. She then pointed at the small sign on the wall and said “did you not see the sign stating to put the dishes away, where do you come from to leave the dishes like that?” We thought that was very rude and out of line. Stephen then called her crazy for being that way towards us for something so minor. From that point, her and her husband told us to leave immediately and the bickering continued between both parties. Stephen called her crazy again after she told us that she would find a way to hold us up at the airport with our passport information that we had provided her with. We left feeling very disappointed after an amazing trip in Etosha for 5 days. We would recommend staying far away from this place and stay somewhere a little closer to the park as there are many camping options outside of the park which are reasonably priced.

Close to Etosha but not recommended

It's true that the accommodation is inexpensive and the location is close to Etosha. Still I wouldn't recommend this place as we stayed at other places way nicer for just a little more money. The rooms were spacious but I really didn't like that there was no door to the toilet. Instead you could see the toilet directly already when you walk a few metres into the room which is not really convenient as I was travelling with friends. The second thing that really bothered all of us were the animals: in the guesthouse they have dogs, roosters, chickens etc. Which is nice but all of these animals were making loud noises throughout the entire night making it impossible to sleep. Not really good as we had an exhausting day at Etosha ahead of us!

Morning Pia,
I will suggest in future to take complaints up with me.(owner), To clarify info/facts before giving a review like this.
We have two dogs ,but both sleep next to my bed at night.
Unfortunately there are strayed dogs, and all our neighbours have dogs, that sometimes bark at night. We are closed to the open veld and at night jackal come into town to search for food..then the dogs bark except mine in house with me. So don't presume that it were my dogs because it is not true. The roosters are from my neighbours. We gave away all our roosters because of this problem. Unfortunately we have a poor community/neighbours that use chicken/eggs for food. If you complained to us about the door in toilet we could already have done something about it. we never had a complaint about this before. The room is actually a family room but cheaper for friends that share an en -suite room. This problem will be dealt with this week. HOPE THIS CLARIFY THE FACTS . HOPE YOU HAD A GREAT TRIP IN NAMIBIA!!

Family holiday

We stayed here 2 nights with 4 children from 20 to 11 years old. We had a brilliant time.I do not think the owners were in but the lady who looked after the place was certainly very capable and looked after us and the place well. Our 14-year-old son got on well with her son Francius. Everything was very clean and it worked out very well travelling from there to Etosha for the day.The animals did not bother us at all and especially the children enjoyed them. We hope to be back one day!
