Fine stay, great location. The only issue is that we continually asked for our rooms not to be cleaned (requested this 3 different days to 3 different people who all said that wouldn’t be a problem) and they still went in to clean the room. That’s kind but we had valuables that were too large for the safe and we didn’t organize the room for a cleaning (kids toys and clothes were thrown about).
Other than that, it was a pleasant stay.

Souterrain French for is basement

I paid for a room in the basement almost 1.5 times what I paid for a room with a spectacular city view in Paris. I do not think that I received the room I selected and paid for. I had an ample budget for hotels on this trip. I selected city views in my other hotels. The rate that I paid for this room was the rate listed for the city view room. The basement rooms were a third less than I paid. I've lodged a complaint.
I am positive that I selected the city view room. I did so for the and upgraded other hotels on my trip. Souterrain French for is basement. It was the only non-English word in my receipt. It was also the only non-English word on the room descriptions which is odd because the Netherlands speaks Dutch.
Great location
The rooms are not good. They are small.
Ours had significant water damage with a DIY repair that should have taken the room out of rentability. The floor and wall boards moved due to the combination of water damage and dry rot. I included pictures and I have video.
I would not rent from this hotel again as they told me they had no responsibility to make this right.

Great location, close to restaurants and within walking distance of the Anne Frank House. The front desk staff was very friendly, especially Kevin, and I appreciated the complimentary coffee until 11 a.m.
Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the room setup. The bathroom has smoked-glass walls, but you can still clearly see the person’s body, so there is almost no privacy. The bathroom door also does not lock. We were told this was for safety reasons, but it made sharing a room very uncomfortable. Since we were traveling with both girls and boys, we had to put a table outside the bathroom door to keep it closed and take turns leaving the room so everyone could comfortably shower and use the restroom.
The beds were extremely hard, with very little cushioning. Also, because of the open bathroom design, water gets onto the laminate floor. The floor appears to have been damaged, and you can actually feel raised/bubbling areas when walking.
Overall, the location and staff were good, but the room design and lack of bathroom privacy were major issues for us. I think this hotel is better suited for younger travelers or families with young children. For families with teenagers or adults sharing a room, I would definitely consider the bathroom setup before booking.

Rooms were very small, not much space to open suitcase. Bathroom is attached to shower and sink is outside the area of the bathroom and shower. No countertop space. Cups in the rooms were all used and not washed prior to our arrival.
