deplorable household

We came between brother and sister in this hotel, we had a room for 3 which was small but enough to sleep.
the people managing the reception were very nice.
Now as for cleaning the room, the one if was inadmissible .. we had dust everywhere (so much so that we saw her flying in the room), we had a coffee maker available as well as 3 cups and coffee to serve each day now the cups were never replaced.
I want to clarify that the housekeepers came every day to supposedly clean, but they only remade the beds and changed our shower towels. regarding the bathroom, the shower head was full of limestone (nice for washing), there was a box with written "hygiene plastic" I think for everything that is sanitary towel but this one was always empty even when we arrived .. we had a bath mat and a hand towel when we arrived but the next day when the housekeepers passed we no longer have one available.
Regarding the beds, there was a holed duvet sheet, another with big red spots ... a former occupant earring under the duvet as well as another under the bed, the tip of the hair dryer also found under the bed next to used lollipop stick and a lot of dust ...
there was also mould in the ventilation or fire alarm on the ceiling as well as stains on the walls
(photos attached)
Unfortunately we had a very busy schedule and we could not take the time to discuss it directly at the reception, but we were very disappointed with the cleanliness of this room ...

Nightmare: Feces from the shower drain, lies, no compensation.

1 star. A long-planned anniversary holiday that I had saved up on turned into a nightmare and the hotel dismissed all responsibility.
The incident
Friday, April 3, 2026. Check-in around 3pm, room 163. Everything seemed fine at first. An hour later, I saw faecal water coming up from the shower drain and spreading in the bathroom. The water also ran into the bedroom. I walked barefoot through this sewage before I realized what was actually in the room.
Our things have been contaminated: Underwear, towel, the outside of my suitcase. We immediately informed the reception. One employee came with a pump and vacuum cleaner and worked in the room for about 15 minutes while we had to stand in. We were not offered another room or waiting room, we simply stood by while sewage was sucked up.
The "spare room"
Room 218 was offered to us as a solution. According to the hotel, officially the same category, noticeably smaller in reality: no entrance hallway, less usable space. And yellow stains on the sink when you move in. No upgrade, no gesture of apology, a one-to-one exchange on paper, which in practice was a downgrade.
Dealing with the complaint on site
We raised the issue three times at the reception:
Friday about 5 pm: No compensation, laundry is done, new room is there, so the subject is done.
Sunday about 10am before checkout: The manager is not there, the employee can do nothing.
Sunday about 11 am at checkout and baggage drop-off: The manager is on vacation, we should write an email to info@xohotels.com.
Three different employees on two different days. Every time wimping. A manager was never available, according to employees.
By the way, the washed laundry was not ready at checkout on Sunday lunchtime. When picking up our luggage in the evening, the staff first had to look for our laundry and then gave it to us soaking wet.
The written answer
I sent a detailed complaint to the hotel. The employee's response contained several demonstrably false statements:
Claim: We had been offered breakfast as a gesture of goodwill. Reality: Never happened.
Claim: We wouldn't have come forward after the incident. Reality: Three attempts at the front desk, all brushed off.
Claim: Cleaning our contaminated laundry was a considerable effort. Reality: She was handed over to us soaking wet and delayed.
My reply with the correct timeline was followed by a second rejection and the announcement that no further correspondence would be made. None of my specific objections have been addressed.
Why this is not normal
Two nights here cost well over 200 EUR per night. For this price, the expectation is not luxury, but the minimum: a clean room and a hotel that takes responsibility in the event of a hygiene incident. Neither took place here.
Contact with faecal water is a documented health risk. To dismiss that as solved with a change of room and a laundry service is not appropriate.
Images for evaluation
Everything described above is documented with photos and videos, part of which is attached to this review.
Conclusion
The case is now in parallel with CHECK24, Booking.com, the European Consumer Centre Netherlands, the NVWA (Dutch Food and Goods Authority for Hygiene in the Catering Industry) and the ACM / ConsuWijzer (Consumer Protection Agency).
An incident can happen anywhere. How a hotel handles it is the real review. XO Hotels Infinity has chosen to brush us off, twist facts and hide behind a never-present manager.
Those who book here should know how to deal with guests in an emergency.

Breakfast was unavailable, Staff suggested to walk 300 yards to their branch for breakfast. One triple beds room was small and stuffed, 2 ft floor space to walk in the room, very inconvenient. Shower door opened halfway due to tight Bathroom space. Very long narrow corridor with one entry/exit point and poor ventilation, very inconvenient too. Staff don't show the room when checking in. I booked 2 x triple rooms including kid's on the transaction, on one booking reference in 3 months advance, yet they couldn't use their basic common sense to allocate both rooms next to each other. When mentioned, it was my fault for not requesting in the booking. When I mentioned inconveniences and service cuts, the explanation I received from a staff member made me feel under valued, my POV is, I paid in full upfront what the website demanded on the quote, in order to receive the service, so why have silly excuses to cut on service and not compensate for failing to do so. All my problems and requests was heard with empathy but not solved to accommodate my convenience.

Towels are in bad condition and there’s not really a staff to greet you or talk to you. You check in on computer screens and check out on them. It’s nice to have a few bus stops right outside the door
