dream hotel

We went on a family vacation, with our 12-year-old son, from September 9 to 14 and the experience was fantastic, everything was perfect, the hotel is in Den Oever, a beautiful town with few inhabitants with absolute tranquility, we rented a car in Amsterdam Being the perfect hotel to travel throughout Holland in a reasonable time, there is also free parking nearby. Very close to the hotel there is a Snackbar Smultaria restaurant with cheap and exquisite food and fabulous treatment from the owner. The hotel is a beautiful house with few rooms, our room was in the attic, with three very comfortable beds, lots of space, full bathroom, and a very varied and exquisite buffet breakfast. The price was very cheap compared to Amsterdam. The owners were charming and took excellent care of us, answering any questions. I would definitely return to the hotel because it was an unforgettable experience.

Welcoming

This B&B is of a high standard and easily met our expectations. Decor throughout had the feel of a small boutique hotel.
They had plenty of secure space for bicycles, but I would suggest it is best to always warn them in advance. There is a small bar run on an honesty basis. If arriving by car, there is no car park adjoining the hotel.
Our room was clean and quiet. WiFi worked well and there were sufficient electrical points. There was no in room tea making facility or room safe.
The restaurant they recommended to us was very good and only a short walk away. Whilst they do not offer dinner, breakfast was good.
For cyclists planning to cross the Afsluitdijk from April 2019 and onwards for the next three years, please remember that building works are preventing a full crossing by bicycle. Instead an hourly complimentary bus service departing from the Den Oever bus station will take you and your bike across.
Returning to our stay at the Het Huis, I am happy to recommend it.

Cycling around NL, this is a must for weary cyclists.

Friendly, quirky and full of personality, this plase had everything - a great shower and comfy beds, a little courtyard garden. Wew were able to lock our bikes out of the way inthe garage. It was like stopping with mates, everything was great, and whilst we were out at supper, they even took our washing in becasue a rain shower came along.

Holland road trip and bear rescue

Our road trip through the Netherlands started here. Ina was lovely and we had free reign of the house, enabling us to cook our food and clean up. The bedroom was nice and spacious and our bikes were able to be securely locked away. The facility was immaculate and Ina and Ewald were very welcoming and would do anything to help you in your stay. They went out of their way to retrieve some items we accidentally left in the local eatery and were able to send them back to the UK for us, and we cant thank them enough as they were sentimental items. Breakfast was excellent and plenty to fuel us for our ride ahead. Will definately go there again and would recommend. Nice little town.

Loved it!

Very chic boutique. Fabulous owners who were most accommodating. Enough tea and coffee to go around which for thirsty and tired cyclists is a dream come true when you've just cycled into a head wind across the Afsluitdijk and further battled from Sneek. Great breakfast with fresh Dutch pancakes, meat, cheese, warm bread, boiled eggs, fruitloaf, and plenty to drink to see us on our way. Typical house, our twin bed accommodation in the Apex with a velux window and nice view to the docks. Gable end window overlooks interesting second hand shop. Lady owner is an artist and her work adorns all areas of this bed & breakfast. I loved the one in our room! Would definitely stay here again!
Please be aware very steep staircase.
