Great Views with Lots of Steps

The Villa Sofija has great views of Lake Ohrid and is located on the edge of the old town. There are lots of steps to reach the Villa from the street and more to reach your room. The reward for this effort is the panoramic view of Lake Ohrid.
Our room was spacious and very clean with many amenities including a kitchen. Great for preparing breakfast.
The hotel is small and someone is only on hand when checking in. So arrangements to meet the hotel person need to be made in advance. All of this worked out for us when we arrived.
A short walk leads to the Church of St. Sofija and a small square with restaurants. from there it is a short walk to other sites, museums, churches, restaurants, shops, etc. But far enough away to be very quite and restful at night.
Ohrid is great to visit and the Villa Sofija is very overlooks it all.
PS - If you will be arriving by car, you can make arrangements in advance for a spot in the local parking area at the base of the hotel

Good location with beautiful view of the lake.

Good location being possible to visit the main points of interest on foot, beautiful view from the balcony, room of good size for a person or couple, the owner is attentive, leaves in the room water and some goodies, has a fridge bar in the room, does not provide breakfast, has public parking in front. It is quiet and with great cleaning. The mattress isn't very good.

Tremendous view over Ohrid Old City - Very helpful reception

We stayed in Villa Sofija's larges unit at the top of the building for two stays: A) 27/05 - 01/06 and again B) for one night 09/06 - 10/06/26. This unit/apartment is very well equipped and situate at the top of the building providing us with excellent views over Ohrid Old City. This made it a place with excellent atmosphere. It is worth noting that getting to the top apartment involves a climb up plenty of steps. But, for anyone with reasonable fitness, this is a price worth paying for the view. We were looked after very well, both before and during our stay by Svetlana. She was friendly and incredibly responsive answering various questions and helping us with practicalities e.g. taxi bookings.

We had a great time

Villa Sofija was an absolutely lovely place to stay. Clean and comfortable with great views of St Sofija and the lake. It was really central and very easy to get around.
