Well worth the visit

It was a great experience to stay overnight at Boen.
The scenery, the hotel, the room, the service and the meals, you have to look hard to find something better.
Expensive yes, but worth it.

Great stay and food/drinks in great surroundings.

Unfortunately, the Kristiansand weather offered grey weather and rain. But it was weighed up by our wonderful stay at Boen Farm. We arrived before the room was ready, and had a nice walk around the beautiful gardens of the farm, before the rain came. In the room, a harmonious blend of ancient and hypermodern, we were greeted with champagne and petit four chocolate.
The evening dinner had so many dishes that we got out of count, and beautifully composed with good wines. The guy liked the vagu meat best, while the lady (who is from the north and works with fish) fell in bars over the beautiful cuve. The cheese variant was lovely. And was also good, but a little much meat. The desserts were also good, but then we were so saturated that they would have been better two hours later. All food contained cultivated accessories. We were so full of coffee that we didn’t ask for an avec, but would have thanked yes if they had asked us.
The breakfast the next day had lovely homemade bread and assorted pastry on our table, much made on the farm, and we were allowed to order hot pastry, eggs and bacon as we wanted it. The croassant was not homemade, so actually superfluous.
Expensive yes, but all the work they have done with restoration, great surroundings, lovely food and lovely service makes it worth a day there.
Expensive yes, but all the work they've done

A wonderful place ; with extraordinary food and service. Like stepping back 100 years in time with beautifull gardens !

A rare and lovely place in a large beautiful park, with a river , surrounded by several perfectly kept buildings . Rooms are tastefully upgraded but kept in the style of the original
period.
It is a relief to find such a charming Hotel without the "boutique design look" , now so popular. And the food is outstanding !

Once again a success

Then we were there for the third time and the same nice experience as last.
We know which room we want - asked for it and got it. Will not say which it is for then it is quite sure busy next time we go there.
Boen Farm is simply an experience. Walk around the farm - along the river - in the herb garden and know how the hunger builds up - and at the same time know that it will be so well satisfied later in the evening
