A very welcoming B&B, where you feel like at home

An oasis of peace after Panama City ! The garden is beautiful and peaceful with lots of flowers. The bedroom is simply furnished but perfectly adequate with a large bathroom.
The young couple of managers couldn't be more helpful and friendly. They served us a delicious breakfast at the time which suited us, briefed us about the walk we should do nearby and even gave us a free lift to the start of the walk. We had a nice long discussion about many topics and we would definitely recommend staying in that lovely B&B if you come to El Valle de Anton.

Great gardens and flowers and trees, peaceful setting, however let down by the accomodation

Booked 4 nights, decided after the first night to leave, stayed actually 2 nights, no refund, the photos and the PR is very good. However I would advise before paying cash up front check out the room you would be staying in. The cottages as shown on the web and booking.com contain 3 rooms. Our King room measured 11.5 x 15 Feet. not much room or move around in. Large storage cupboard with only 4 clothes hangers, so we decided to leave our clothes in the cases. Internet very slow and also weak security. tv did NOT work. No Parking on site Park your car on the road outside the property. sink in bathroom tap no pressure and NO HOT water, shower no pressure and you either froze and were scalded with the Hot Water when it took it upon itself to alter your setting. If you wish to have Breakfast you pay and the staff phone into town and it is delivered to the Paradise, suggest do not bother as there is an excellent Coffee outlet in Anton. And why concerned us most was a hygiene issue, you could NOT flush toilet paper, you had to put in Waste Bin, so i would assume NOT on mains drainage, added to which we had to request twice to remove the soiled paper from the Toilet. I have not done the above since the 50s and 60s in Southern Europe if you wish to have the modern up to date facilities go elsewhere in Anton pay a little more and get more bang for you Buck. Would I return NEVER EVER

Comfortable room amid peaceful, lush surroundings

The grounds are beautiful, tropical, lush, and serene.
The owners are extremely nice and went out of their way to help me more than once.
I found out their parents actually own the other accommodation I was considering.
I had a room in the first cottage. The outside door opens to a common hall with a coffee maker, mini fridge, and water dispenser.
At the end of the hall are two bedrooms with bathrooms side-by-side with separate entry doors.
The second night of my stay, a woman and her toddler stayed next door. They were extremely quiet and considerate neighbors, but I could hear their conversation through the thin wall when they were awake.
The room had everything I needed, though it was a bit smaller than I had expected. It is great for one person, and would be ok for two.
Large bed, slightly lumpy, but softer than most beds in Central America.
A small couch and end tables furnished the room. The window overlooked a side yard.
The bathroom shower and sink had hot water, nice water pressure. Each room had its own water heater tank.
The A/C worked like champ.
An outdoor table and chairs were set up on a patio just in front of the cottage, and the patio area/lobby in front of the main house was warm and inviting. Often, a guest would be gently swaying in the hammock. I did not spend time outside because it was hot and I'm a magnet for mosquitos - with or without a repellant bath.
I did not eat breakfast here because I was out exploring early in the mornings. I don't remember what was on offer.
**Do understand that this is still a small town with a village-y feel. You won't find any 4 or 5 star accommodation here.
The Wi-Fi didn't really work. The signal was weak everywhere, and when it rained, there was no signal.
It is a bit far from the town - about a 20minute walk to the town center - the main road lined with markets and restaurants.
If you plan to hike La India Dormida before sunrise, you will have a difficult time finding a taxi willing to take you there at 4am to avoid the extra hour you will have to walk from this hotel to the trailhead.
Both pillows were large and overstuffed; the height made my neck was a little sore. Having two pillows of different sizes would be a nice touch.

Good location, Ok rooms, terrible service

Honestly it was a pretty bad experience, the rooms were ok but they smell like they were closed for a long time, muy girlfriend was coughing and with a runny nose at night because of the smell...
the owner called our room at night and actually accused us of inviting an additional person to the room...Why he was thinking that Is still a mystery to me...
At the end of the stay the owner charged up additional money for the room, even when the reservation mentioned clearly what the room included
The owner was extemely confrontational, I felt very disrepected and was honestly afraid that he wanted the discussion to turn into something more violent.
Very bad experience overall, will never consider going back and will honestly recommend people to really consider before going here...

Beautiful Property and Lovely Hosts

We stayed a night at this lovely BnB. The property is just beautiful with a large garden and places to sit and enjoy the scenery. The hills are visible from every direction. El Valle is a quiet town with none of the traffic and noise of Panama City. The town and this property are definitely worth a visit.
The lush and well maintained gardens on the property draw many different species of birds, reptiles, and butterflies. We found it endlessly entertaining just sitting outside, watching and listening to the bird songs and insects. In the evening we were treated to a yard full of fireflies blinking away like Christmas lights.
Breakfast was delicious and served at our specified time. We were treated to coffee, fruit (smoothies!), eggs, and meats. Plenty to eat and it set us up for a full day visiting the waterfall, butterfly garden, zoo and zip-lines.
While a bit of a walk from the center of town (about 20 minutes on foot, but a 5 minute drive), it is a lovely walk filled with scenes of hens, horse properties, and the occasional GIANT lizards and iguanas. Dogs roaming around the neighborhood will tug at your heart for pets, though all seem well cared for.
The room was cozy and clean, simple, but with a TV, air conditioning, large bathroom and a comfortable bed. The resident cat Dylan is adorable!
